- 1Satisfy yourself that you meet every eligibility condition before starting the form — the brochure asks candidates to proceed only after doing so.
- 2Open the MCA Program Admission Brochure on the BIT Mesra Admissions page and click 'Apply Now' to register for the programme and create a password. Do not share the password with anybody.
- 3Complete and submit the application form online only.
- 4Select a maximum of THREE campuses in order of preference; preferences cannot be altered at a later stage.
- 5Pay the application fee of Rs.1,500/- (General / OBC-NCL / General-EWS) or Rs.1,000/- (SC/ST) through the online payment gateway using net banking, debit card or credit card of any scheduled bank, before the last date of the application process.
- 6Note the Form / Application number on the online application form and cite it in any correspondence.
- 7Select your State of Eligibility from the drop-down, determined by the location of the college where you passed or are appearing for graduation.
- 8Download the admit card from your ERP login when the admit card window opens; the mock test and live test links also appear in the ERP login.
- 9Take the remote-proctored online test on a system with a microphone and webcam, logging in at least 30 minutes before the start time.
- 10If shortlisted, attend the online interview and then the document verification cum admission round for the campus allotted to you.

Does BIT Mesra run its own MCA entrance test?
Yes. The MCA admission brochure states that the online computer-based test for shortlisting candidates for its two-year full-time MCA programme is conducted by the Institute itself at national level. It is not routed through NIMCET or a state CET.
Which degrees make me eligible?
A Bachelor of Computer Applications, or a B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Applications, from a recognised university, with a minimum of three years of education after class 12. You need at least 55% average marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD); B.Sc. Honours candidates need 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) in the Honours subject. Final-year candidates in 2026 could apply and join provisionally.
What is the test pattern?
100 multiple-choice questions of one mark each in 120 minutes, split as 50 questions on Computer Fundamentals (Part A) and 50 on Mathematics, Analytical Ability, Logical Reasoning and General English (Part B). There is no negative marking.
Is the written test enough to get in?
No. The brochure's selection procedure is a written test followed by an interview for those who qualify it. The written test carries 40% weightage with qualifying marks of 35, and the interview carries 60% weightage out of 100 with qualifying marks of 40. The merit list requires combined marks of 38 or more and a rank in the top 600.
Where is the exam held?
Nowhere physical. It is a remote-proctored online test taken on your own system, which must have a webcam and microphone, from a quiet location. You must log in at least 30 minutes before the start and cannot take a break during the 120 minutes.
What does it cost to apply, and how many campuses can I choose?
Rs.1,500 for General / OBC-NCL / General-EWS candidates and Rs.1,000 for SC/ST candidates, non-refundable. You may pick a maximum of three campuses from Mesra, Lalpur, Noida and Jaipur in order of preference, and cannot change them later.
