FAQs
Does CGHS hold its own recruitment exam for Staff Nurse and Pharmacist?

Not for these regular posts. In the 2026 cycle the CGHS Nursing Officer and Pharmacist vacancies appear inside the Staff Selection Commission's Advertisement No. Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts. You apply to the Commission, sit the Commission's Computer Based Examination and are selected on the Commission's merit.

The catalogue says 'Staff Nurse' but I cannot find that post. Why?

The Commission names the CGHS nursing post 'Nursing Officer'. Look for Nursing Officer against the Central Government Health Scheme in the Commission's post table.

What is in the paper?

Four parts of 25 objective questions each — General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) and English Language (Basic Knowledge) — of 50 maximum marks per part, in 60 minutes with a sectional timer of 15 minutes for each part. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Does the paper test nursing or pharmacy knowledge?

No. The Commission's Selection Posts paper is a general aptitude paper. Your professional qualification is what makes you eligible for the post; it is not what the written paper examines.

Where do I find the exact qualification for the CGHS Pharmacist or Nursing Officer post?

At the Commission's RHQ post-details page, selecting the examination Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts and the Regional Office the post belongs to. The notice's post table prints only the qualification level, not the full essential qualification.

What does the application cost?

Rs. 100/-. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and ESM eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

Are the vacancy numbers final?

No. The Commission states the vacancies indicated in the notice are tentative and it reserves the right to alter, change, cancel or withdraw any or all of them at any stage.

Can I still prepare for or apply to Ayurvedic Pharmacist MP10826?

Not in Phase XIV/2026. SSC MPR cancelled MP10826 on 13 July 2026 for administrative reasons. Its 38 advertised vacancies are historical context, not an active application route.

Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
