How to applyPending verification
- 1Identify your course group. The Admissions Notice 2026 places MBBS, BSc Nursing (Vellore campus), BSc Nursing (Chittoor campus) and Allied & Healthcare Degree courses in Group A, and Diploma in Nursing, AHS Diploma and PG Diploma courses, the listed MSc programmes, MPH, MHA, MPT, MOT, Fellowships and Hospital Chaplaincy courses in Group B.
- 2Download that course's admission bulletin from admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in and read it - the prospectus repeatedly states the admission process is as described in the current year admission bulletin, and the Step-1 test content is in Annexure III of that bulletin.
- 3Apply online through the CMC Vellore admissions portal and complete payment before the closing date; for the 2026 cycle the Admissions Notice set 30th March 2026 as the last date for Group A and Group B online application submission with payment.
- 4If your course runs on a national examination, register for and sit that examination - NEET UG for MBBS and for BSc Nursing at the Chittoor campus, NEET PG for medical postgraduate courses, NEET SS for higher specialty courses.
- 5If your course runs on CMC's own selection, sit the Step-1 computer based entrance examination, then attend Step-2 at Vellore for the medical check-up, personal interviews and special or practical tests if shortlisted.
- 6Those finally selected register for the course by paying the tuition fee and completing admission formalities, submitting certificates in original. The prospectus states admission remains provisional until approved by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
FAQsPending verification
Is there still a CMC Vellore entrance exam?
Yes, but not for every course. CMC still conducts a Step-1 computer based entrance examination followed by a Step-2 of interviews, special tests and a medical check-up for BSc Nursing at the Vellore campus, Diploma Nursing, Allied & Healthcare Degree courses and AHS Diploma and PG Diploma courses. It does not conduct one for MBBS.
How does CMC Vellore admit to MBBS?
Entirely on NEET. The prospectus states the MBBS intake is 100 per year: 50% of seats are filled by the management on inter-se merit as per NEET results, split into Open (2 seats), Minority Network (38 seats) and CMC Vellore Staff quota (10 seats) on NEET (UG) rank; the other 50% are filled by the State Government from the state merit list of NEET, with 30% following the State reservation policy and 20% for State Government candidates belonging to the Christian minority, both strictly in accordance with the NEET merit list.
What does the Step-1 test contain?
The prospectus names the papers but leaves the detail to Annexure III of each course's admission bulletin. For Allied & Healthcare degree courses it is described as a science based paper. For postgraduate nursing routes Step-1 is a General Paper drawn from Medical Surgical, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Community Health and Psychiatric Nursing, and/or a Speciality Paper confined to the respective speciality. Download your course bulletin from admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in for the marks and duration - they are not in the College Prospectus.
What happens in Step-2?
A medical check-up, personal interviews, and special or practical tests assessing skills, attitudes, aptitude and interest towards the healing ministry, motivation and suitability for study at CMC Vellore. For Christian candidates applying under the Minority Network Category a written test in Bible Knowledge is held at Vellore during Step-2. The prospectus states the decision of the Selection Committee is final.
When do I apply?
For the 2026 cycle the Registrar's Admissions Notice 2026 set 30th March 2026 as the last date for online application submission with payment for both Group A and Group B courses. The prospectus's own admissions calendar gives only tentative months - prospectus and application in February, Step-1 around May, Step-2 around July for most Group A and Group B courses.
Do I need NEET UG for BPT or BOT at CMC?
The two official documents differ because the rule changed mid-cycle. The February Admissions Notice 2026 said BOT and BPT admission would be on NEET merit and advised candidates to sit NEET UG 2026. The later Prospectus 2026-2027 records that per the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions dated 02.03.2026 that requirement was deferred to the academic year 2027-2028, so appearance in NEET UG is not required for BPT and BOT for 2026-2027. Check the current BPT/BOT bulletin on admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in before deciding.
Is BSc Nursing at Chittoor the same process as at Vellore?
No. The prospectus states that admission to BSc Nursing at the Chittoor campus is based on NEET UG 2026, citing the Government of Andhra Pradesh order dated 17.02.2026 (G.O.MS No. 26) and the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences notification dated 20.02.2026, for both Convener Quota and Management Quota seats from the academic year 2026-27 onwards. The Vellore campus BSc Nursing programme runs on CMC's own Step-1 and Step-2 selection.
