Note
CSIR UGC NET is an eligibility test, not a direct recruitment exam. Successful candidates qualify for (a) award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) to pursue research, (b) eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor in Indian universities/colleges, and/or (c) admission to Ph.D. programmes. JRF stipend is Rs. 37,000/month for the first two years plus Rs. 20,000/year contingency; upgraded to SRF at Rs. 42,000/month from the 3rd year. No separate pay-scale/recruitment document beyond the fellowship terms was sourced.
