FAQsPending verification
Who conducts CUET (PG) 2026?
The National Testing Agency (NTA), on behalf of the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC), for admission to PG programmes of Central and other participating Universities.
What is the mode and duration of the exam?
Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only, of 90 minutes duration (PwBD candidates get 20 minutes compensatory time per hour).
How many questions are there and what is the marking scheme?
Each question paper has 75 questions; each question carries 4 marks. +4 for a correct response, -1 for an incorrect response, and 0 for unattempted questions.
How many test papers can I apply for?
A candidate may select up to four (4) question paper codes from Appendix-II, mapped to the programmes/universities where admission is sought.
What is the eligibility?
A passed Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or appearing in the final year of a Bachelor's degree/equivalent in 2026. NTA sets no age limit, but universities may have their own criteria.
What is the application fee?
For up to two test papers: General ₹1400, Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL ₹1200, SC/ST/Third Gender ₹1100, PwD/PwBD ₹1000, Outside Bharat ₹7000. Additional test papers cost ₹700 (General), ₹600 (other reserved categories), or ₹3500 (Outside Bharat) per paper.
Can I challenge the answer key?
Yes. NTA displays provisional answer keys for challenge; a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question challenged applies. The result is compiled on the final answer key and NTA's decision is final.
How is the result computed?
Evaluation uses the final answer key with raw marks. For pre-planned multi-shift papers, raw marks are converted to NTA Score using percentile-based normalization. Scorecards are downloaded from the NTA website and DigiLocker; no physical card is dispatched. There is no re-evaluation/re-checking.
How long is the score valid?
The NTA Score of CUET (PG) 2026 is valid for admission to the academic year 2026-27 only. Merit lists and admissions are decided by the participating Universities.
Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
