Does DJ Academy of Design still conduct its own entrance test?
Yes. The academy's admission page states that admission to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is determined by performance in the DJAD entrance exam - named DEED, the DJAD Entrance Exam for Design - conducted either online or offline, followed by portfolio review and a personal interview.
Can I get in on a UCEED or CEED score instead?
The academy says UCEED scores (for undergraduate programmes) and CEED scores (for postgraduate programmes), both conducted by IIT IDC Bombay, 'are also considered'. It does not say they replace the portfolio review or the personal interview.
What is the minimum qualification for B.Des.?
12th standard or equivalent from any stream, from a State or Central Board, with a minimum aggregate of 50%. A three-year diploma after class 10 with 50% aggregate from an AICTE or State Government recognised institution is also accepted. The academy sets an age band of 17 to 25 years as of 31st July in the year of application.
When is DEED held?
No examination date is published on the academy's website. The academy tells shortlisted candidates the DEED and interview details by email. Overseas applicants are asked to submit their application and portfolio by June 2026.
Whose degree do I receive?
The academy states that DJ Academy of Design confers its degree through Alagappa University in Tamil Nadu.
