Does FACT recruit Management Trainees through GATE?
No. Recruitment Notification No. 2/2024 does not mention GATE anywhere. The method of selection for the Management Trainee post codes is FACT's own Computer Based Test, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
What does the FACT Management Trainee CBT look like?
120 minutes, 120 objective multiple-choice questions set in English and Hindi, in two parts. Part 1 is 60 questions - Management Aptitude 40, General English 10, General Knowledge 10 - at 1 mark each with 0.33 negative. Part 2 is 60 questions of technical aptitude and subject knowledge in your own discipline, at 1.5 marks each with 0.50 negative. Part 2 therefore carries more weight than Part 1, and it is also the first tie-breaker.
How many candidates get called for the Group Discussion and Interview?
Five times the number of vacancies notified for each category under each post, in order of CBT merit and subject to the qualifying marks FACT fixes for the CBT.
What is the age limit?
For the Management Trainee post codes the maximum age is 26 years for UR and EWS, 29 for OBC-NCL and 31 for SC/ST, reckoned as on 01.02.2024 for the 2/2024 cycle - that is, born on or after 01.02.1998, 01.02.1995 and 01.02.1993 respectively. PwBD candidates get a further 10 years on posts identified as suitable for PwBD. A later cycle would carry its own reckoning date.
What do Management Trainees get paid?
A consolidated Rs. 37,000 per month in the first year, then Rs. 43,000 per month in the second year as Assistant Manager (Designate). After two years of successful training they are absorbed as Assistant Manager at the minimum of the E2 scale, Rs.50000-160000. A five-year service bond of Rs.1,50,000 - Rs.75,000 for SC/ST candidates - applies.
Is a FACT Management Trainee vacancy open right now?
No. As of 2026-08-04, FACT's Job Openings page lists only Advertisement No. 06/2026 dated 22.07.2026 for Assistant Manager (Welfare), which closed for online registration on 05.08.2026 with hard copies due by 15.08.2026. FACT does not run a fixed annual Management Trainee cycle, so watch the Job Openings page.
