Does HMAT still run?
No conducting body publishes a test called HMAT. GITAM, whose Hyderabad management school this row points at, lists every entrance test it accepts for MBA admission - GBAT, CAT, MAT, NMAT, CMAT, SNAP and AP/TS ICET - and HMAT is not among them. The legacy GITAM Hyderabad Business School domain ghbs.in no longer serves a site.
What should I take instead for a GITAM Hyderabad MBA seat?
GITAM's own test is the GITAM Business Aptitude Test (GBAT), which the institution says is mandatory if you do not hold a CAT, MAT, NMAT, CMAT, SNAP or AP/TG ICET score. Any one of those accepted scores also works.
What is the eligibility?
A bachelor's degree with a minimum aggregate of 60%, plus a valid score in one of the recognised qualifying exams.
Is the test the whole selection?
No. GITAM publishes an extempore round after shortlisting and a counselling session for course and campus selection, and states that final admission decisions weigh academic qualifications, entrance exam performance and personal interview results together. It also states plainly that it offers no direct admission process.
Is there a Telangana state route to an MBA seat?
Yes. GITAM lists AP/TS ICET among the scores it accepts. TG ICET, the Telangana Integrated Common Entrance Test, is the state's own MBA and MCA entrance test and is catalogued under the slug ts-icet.
