Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line HSSC CET up against other exams yet

This does not mean HSSC CET shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

Exam pattern

Qualification pathway

Clear each applicable stage in order

Final selection or admission still depends on the published cutoff or merit list and any applicable counselling, document, medical, preference and vacancy rules.

Selection sequence

  1. 1

Common Eligibility Test (CET) - written examination

    Required

Qualifying stage. Clearing it places you on the CET merit list; it does not by itself select you for a post.

Exam Date Statement: The advertisement's 'Important Dates at a Glance' table states, for both 'Downloading of Admit Cards from the HSSC website' and 'Date of Examination', that it 'Will be communicated Separately'. No examination date had been published on the Commission's website as of 3 August 2026.

  2. 2

    Post-stage after CET

    Required

For Group-D posts the Commission shortlists on CET marks and then invites the electronic willingness/consent of eligible candidates against the posts advertised; only willingness is obtained before the final result is declared, and there is no second written stage stated for Group-D. For Group-C posts the Commission conducts a post-specific skill and/or written examination, for which the maximum number of candidates called is ten times the number of posts advertised.

How to apply
Open official application page
  1. 1Register on the designated Haryana One Time Registration portal, onetimeregn.haryana.gov.in, providing all particulars of identity and uploading the documents supporting every claim - reservation, educational qualifications and any other detail the Government or the Commission asks for.
  2. 2If you had registered for CET Advt. No. 1/2022 (held 05-06 November 2022) or CET Advt. No. 1/2025 (held 26-27 July 2025), you must use the same CET Registration Number. A new applicant is allotted a Registration Number that becomes the reference ID for all future purposes.
  3. 3Fill in the required particulars in the online application form before the closing date - the advertisement states no change of particulars will be entertained at any later stage.
  4. 4Pay the processing fee online (net banking, debit card, credit card etc.) as prescribed in Notification No. 42/119/2019-5HR-II dated 31 December 2024. An applicant who had already applied in CET Group C Advt. No. 1/2025 need not pay again; only applicants freshly applying for CET Group D pay.
  5. 5Upload the required documents - for most categories the scanned copy of the Matriculation certificate is required, plus category-specific certificates.
  6. 6Use the correction/edit window if you need to amend the form; after it closes the Commission states no further opportunity to fill or edit will be given.
  7. 7Download the admit card from the HSSC website when the Commission announces it; the advertisement says the admit card and examination dates will be communicated separately.
FAQs
Does clearing the Haryana CET get me a government job?

No. The CET is a common eligibility test. It qualifies you and places you on a CET merit list. For Group-D posts the Commission later advertises the actual posts and invites the electronic willingness of shortlisted candidates from that merit list; for Group-C posts you must still sit a post-specific skill and/or written examination, for which at most ten times the number of advertised posts are called. The CET score alone does not appoint you.

What are the qualifying marks?

50% for the general category and 40% for reserved categories (both vertical and horizontal), the reserved categories receiving a 10% concession. A candidate of any category who scores below the minimum must re-appear in a later CET.

How long is a CET score valid?

Three years from the date the CET result is declared. If you improve your marks in a later attempt, a fresh three-year validity runs from the result date of that attempt. There is no cap on the number of attempts.

What is the exam pattern for the Group-D CET?

100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks in 1 hour 45 minutes, offline on an OMR sheet, bilingual in English and Hindi, at Matriculation level. There is no negative marking for a wrong answer, but you must fill the fifth 'not attempted' bubble for any question you skip - failing to do so costs one mark per question.

When is the CET Group-D 2026 examination?

Not announced. Advt. No. 05/2026 states that the admit card download and the date of examination 'will be communicated separately'. Registration ran from 19 June 2026 and, after an extension notified on 3 July 2026, closed on 5 July 2026, with fee payment to 8 July 2026 and the correction window from 9 to 11 July 2026. As at 3 August 2026 no examination date had been published.

Who can apply for the Group-D CET?

Candidates aged 18 to 42 as on the closing date of registration, holding Matriculation from a recognised Board with Hindi or Sanskrit up to Matriculation as one of the subjects. That is the rule for Group-D posts other than Sweeper, Chowkidar and Sweeper-cum-Chowkidar. Post-specific requirements are published in the separate post advertisement issued after the CET.

Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
