- 2Apply online only. ITBP states that applications received offline are rejected summarily; the represented window ran from 24/12/2024 00:01 to 22/01/2025 23:59.
- 3Create a profile on the ITBP recruitment website and fill the online form carefully — ITBP states that false or incorrect information in the online application leads to cancellation of candidature and no later change is permitted.
- 4Pay the application fee of Rs. 100 through the online payment gateway on the ITBP recruitment site. Male candidates of UR, OBC and EWS categories pay; SC, ST and Ex-servicemen candidates are exempt. Fee paid by any other mode is rejected and forfeited, and the fee is never refunded.
- 5Serving Government, autonomous, statutory body or PSU employees must arrange a No Objection Certificate in the Annexure-VI format for document verification; without it the candidature is summarily rejected.
- 6Download the online admit card, which gives the date and venue of the recruitment test. Bring a clear and legible printout of the online application form and the admit card, otherwise entry to PET/PST is refused.
- 7Carry all original certificates and self-attested copies for documentation, including the annexure-format caste, EWS, height/chest relaxation and refugee certificates and four passport-size photographs.

Is ITBP Constable/HC an alias for the SSC GD examination?
No. SSC conducts Constable (General Duty) recruitment for ITBP under the MHA scheme, but ITBP publishes and conducts its own advertisements for Head Constable and Constable trade, technical, telecommunication, medical-cadre and sports-quota posts, with a complete four-phase ITBP-run selection process.
What is ITBP's written paper for a trade constable post?
For the Head Constable & Constable (Motor Mechanic)-2024 recruitment: 100 marks and 100 questions in 2 hours at 10th standard — General knowledge 10, Mathematics 10, Hindi or English 20 (20 Hindi and 20 English questions set, attempt 20 in either), and Trade related theory 60. ITBP may run it as a CBT or on OMR at its discretion.
Is the merit list based on the skill test?
No. ITBP states the Practical (Skill) Test of 50 marks is qualifying in nature at 50%, and the merit list in each category is drawn on the marks obtained in the WRITTEN EXAMINATION.
What are the ITBP PET standards for these posts?
1.6 km race within 7 minutes 30 seconds, an 11-foot long jump and a 3.5-foot high jump, each with three chances for the jumps. PET is qualifying with no marks, has no appeal, and is not held for Ex-servicemen.
Is a tattoo a bar to selection in ITBP?
Not automatically. ITBP permits tattoos depicting religious symbols, figures or names, only on the inner aspect of the left forearm or the dorsum of the hands, and smaller than a quarter of that body part. A substantially faded removed tattoo is treated as a scar and reviewed at the Detailed Medical Examination.
Is the 2024 ITBP Motor Mechanic recruitment finished?
Not as of 3 August 2026. ITBP's recruitment home page still carries a live CT(MM)/HC(MM) Computer Based Test admit-card link, and its news index carries an 11 June 2026 notice on the CBT process for 2023 and 2024 posts — a notice whose PDF returned HTTP 500 when StudyBddy tried to read it.
