We cannot line JPSC up against other exams yet
This does not mean JPSC shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

FAQsPending verification
Who conducts the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination?
The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Circular Road, Ranchi-834001, under The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021 and their 1st and 2nd Amendment Rules. Its website is https://jpsc.gov.in.
How many stages are there?
Two. A Preliminary Examination of two objective papers of 200 marks each, which is a screening test only, and a Main Examination of six descriptive papers followed by an Interview Test. The Main Examination carries 950 marks for the papers counted plus 100 marks for the Interview Test, a grand total of 1050 marks.
Is there negative marking?
Not in the Preliminary Examination. The advertisement states there shall be no negative marking for incorrect answers there. Giving more than one answer counts as a wrong answer with no marks; leaving a question blank carries no penalty.
Does Main Paper-I count towards the merit list?
No. Paper-I (General Hindi & General English, 100 marks) is qualifying only — a candidate must score at least 30 out of 100 combined — and its marks are not counted for the Interview Test merit list or the final merit list.
How many attempts are allowed?
There is no limit on the number of attempts, provided the candidate is otherwise eligible.
What is the status of the 2025 cycle?
Advertisement No. 01/2026 was issued on 29.01.2026 for 103 vacancies. The Preliminary Examination was held on 19.04.2026 and its result was published on 02.07.2026 in the light of a Jharkhand High Court order. The Main (Written) Examination, which had been fixed for 25 to 27 July 2026, was postponed until further orders by the Commission's press release dated 22.07.2026, along with the remaining examinations in its proposed schedule. No revised date is published as at 3 August 2026.
