We cannot line KPSC up against other exams yet
This does not mean KPSC shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

Planning reference — verify the current detailed notice
This is a recruitment FAMILY: the Gazetted Probationers notification fills many different Group A and Group B posts with different qualification rows and its own post-preference mechanism, and Karnataka's reservation structure applies. StudyBddy could not verify whether a compulsory Kannada language paper or a Kannada-knowledge condition applies - that is a decisive planning fact for candidates from outside Karnataka and must be read from the current official notification and from KPSC's Gazetted Probationers rules at https://kpsc.kar.nic.in/g.p.rules.pdf. DOMICILE / RESERVATION: StudyBddy could not verify from an official document in this build whether this examination is open to candidates from outside the state, or restricted to state domiciles. Read the eligibility clause in the current notification. Note the point that is almost universal across State PSCs and that candidates from other states repeatedly get wrong: even where an out-of-state candidate may apply, category reservation and the age relaxation attached to it (SC/ST/OBC/EWS and state-specific categories) are normally available ONLY to candidates holding that state's own category certificate - an outside candidate is usually treated as Unreserved/General for both reservation and age. ACCESS LIMITATION (StudyBddy build, 30 July 2026): kpsc.kar.nic.in could not be read from this environment. The server emits a malformed HTTP response header ('X-XSS-Protection : 1; mode=block', with a space before the colon) which makes robots.txt retrieval fail, so the fetcher refuses the host; the alternate portal kpsconline.karnataka.gov.in times out; and direct HTTPS is refused by this sandbox's egress proxy (403 on CONNECT). The official page URLs below are real and sit on the commission's own domain, but their contents were not read, so no vacancy, eligibility, mark scheme or date has been transcribed.

FAQsPending verification
Is 'KAS' the same thing as the KPSC Gazetted Probationers examination?
They are related but not identical. KPSC's examination is officially the recruitment of Gazetted Probationers to Group A and Group B posts; the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) is the senior-most of the services filled through it, and candidates commonly use 'KAS' as shorthand for the whole examination. See the separate 'kas' record in this catalogue.
Do Preliminary marks count in the final KPSC merit list?
In a Preliminary + Main + Interview recruitment the Preliminary examination is a screening stage only - it decides admission to the Main examination and its marks are not carried into the final merit, which is built from the Main examination and the Personality Test. StudyBddy could not fetch KPSC's own rules document in this build, so confirm the wording in https://kpsc.kar.nic.in/g.p.rules.pdf and the current notification.
Why does this record contain so little detail?
ACCESS LIMITATION (StudyBddy build, 30 July 2026): kpsc.kar.nic.in could not be read from this environment. The server emits a malformed HTTP response header ('X-XSS-Protection : 1; mode=block', with a space before the colon) which makes robots.txt retrieval fail, so the fetcher refuses the host; the alternate portal kpsconline.karnataka.gov.in times out; and direct HTTPS is refused by this sandbox's egress proxy (403 on CONNECT).
