- 2When a notification is issued, select the LIC Zone that covers your State or Union Territory, then read the notification of the exact Division you intend to apply to.
- 3Apply to one Division only, and only through the online link given on the LIC careers page. No other mode of application is accepted.
- 4Confirm that you have knowledge of the official language of the State you are applying for — selected candidates must prove it before joining.
- 5Keep the SC/ST, OBC non-creamy-layer, EWS and disability certificate proformas published by LIC ready if you are claiming a category.

Is LIC Assistant one all-India examination?
No. LIC issues Assistant notifications Division by Division under its eight Zonal Offices, and a candidate may apply to only one Division. Even the main-examination paper structure differs — Part A and Part B States sit a five-section paper that includes Hindi Language, while Part C States sit a four-section paper without it.
What is the LIC Assistant main examination pattern?
200 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes, sections separately timed, five options per question, with one-fourth of the marks deducted for each wrong answer. Part A/B States: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and Hindi Language, 40 questions each. Part C States: General/Financial Awareness 50, General English 40, Quantitative Aptitude 50 and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude 60.
What is the age limit and educational qualification?

Do I need to know the State language?
Yes. LIC's official notice states that a candidate should have knowledge of the official language of the State applied for, and that selected candidates must prove that knowledge before joining. Shortlists are issued subject to qualifying in the official language test wherever applicable.
Is a LIC Assistant recruitment open right now?
No. As of 3 August 2026 the LIC careers page lists only the AAO (Generalists/Specialists/Assistant Engineers) 2025 recruitment and a contract Chief Financial Officer engagement.
