    Single written stage, offered in two phases with a maximum of 2 attempts. The entrance examination is followed by an online B.Tech Common Counseling Process for MET rank holders only. The B.Tech merit list is based on 50% weightage given to the MET score and 50% weightage to the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination (Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry or the optional subject + English).

  1. 1Apply online at https://apply.manipal.edu and pay the application fee on or before the last date of application submission for the phase you intend to sit.
  2. 2While submitting the online application, select any 3 tentative test centre cities in order of preference.
  3. 3Book the entrance test slot (date and batch) in the Online Test Booking System (OTBS), subject to availability of seats. The city is not selectable at the time of test booking, and a booked slot cannot be changed.
  4. 4Appear for MET at the allotted centre; reporting time is one hour before the exam start time.
  5. 5For a second attempt (if eligible), pay Rs. 1200 online at https://apply.manipal.edu during Phase 2 booking — no fresh application is needed.
  6. 6For B.Tech, take part in the online B.Tech Common Counseling Process, open to MET rank holders only. Upload the 10+2 mark card; the merit list is based on 50% weightage to the MET score and 50% weightage to the 10+2 marks (Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry or optional + English).
  7. 7Complete admission formalities — submission of eligibility documents, provisional admission offer, fee payment, issue of the provisional admission order, submission of final results and the admission order.
FAQs
Is MET only an engineering entrance test?

No. MET 2026 is used for admission to programmes across MAHE, including B.Tech and M.Tech at MIT Manipal, B.Tech at MIT Bengaluru, M.E at MSIS, B.Pharm and PharmD, B.Sc Nursing, UG Allied Health Science programmes, B.Sc Biotechnology, several M.Sc programmes and MA Media & Communication. The paper and syllabus differ by programme.

How many attempts does a candidate get at MET 2026?

Two. A candidate who applied on or before the last date for the 1st attempt and sat Phase 1 can book a second attempt in Phase 2 by paying Rs. 1200. Candidates giving their first attempt in Phase 2 are not eligible for a second attempt.

Can I get into MAHE B.Tech without MET?

Yes, through the JEE Main route. MAHE earmarks 20% of general-category seats for candidates admitted on JEE Main CRL rank; that route requires 90 percentile or above in JEE Mains 2026 and 75% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and one optional subject in class 12, and has only one round of online counselling.

How is the B.Tech merit list made from MET?

For the MET route the merit list is based on 50% weightage given to the MET score and 50% weightage to the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination (Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry or the optional subject + English).

Can I change my test city, date or slot after booking?

No. A slot once booked cannot be changed, and requests to change test centre, date or slot are not entertained. The test centre city is decided from the three preferences given in the application, and MAHE's decision is final.
