Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line OPSC OAS up against other exams yet

This does not mean OPSC OAS shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

Eligibility

Planning reference — verify the current detailed notice

This is a recruitment FAMILY: the Odisha Civil Services Examination advertisement fills the Odisha Administrative Service alongside other Group A and Group B services, each with its own qualification and physical-standard row, and Odisha's own reservation structure applies. StudyBddy could not verify whether a compulsory Odia language paper or an Odia-knowledge condition applies - that is a decisive planning fact for candidates from outside Odisha and must be read from the current advertisement and the official syllabus. DOMICILE / RESERVATION: StudyBddy could not verify from an official document in this build whether this examination is open to candidates from outside the state, or restricted to state domiciles. Read the eligibility clause in the current notification. Note the point that is almost universal across State PSCs and that candidates from other states repeatedly get wrong: even where an out-of-state candidate may apply, category reservation and the age relaxation attached to it (SC/ST/OBC/EWS and state-specific categories) are normally available ONLY to candidates holding that state's own category certificate - an outside candidate is usually treated as Unreserved/General for both reservation and age. ACCESS LIMITATION (StudyBddy build, 30 July 2026): www.opsc.gov.in was reachable and its Candidate's Corner link structure was read, but OPSC serves its advertisement, syllabus, recruitment-calendar and results lists through ASP.NET postbacks that return no content to a plain fetch - only the site's rolling 'What's New' strip rendered, and on 30 July 2026 that strip carried no Odisha Civil Services Examination item. The online application portal opscechayan.in returned HTTP 404. The OAS cadre structure and pay levels below WERE read, from the Government of Odisha General Administration Department's OAS Restructuring Resolution. Eligibility, scheme, syllabus and dates could not be read from an OPSC document.

How to apply
Open official application page
  1. 1Open the OPSC Advertisements page and find the current Odisha Civil Services Examination advertisement.
  2. 2Read the advertisement in full - post list, qualifications, age band, Odisha reservation and relaxation entries, any Odia-language condition and the fee are only in that document.
  3. 3Apply online through the portal linked from that advertisement, within the printed window.
  4. 4Track https://www.opsc.gov.in/Public/Pages/View_Content.aspx?id=N5n/48rKoj1sNGZtqat51w== for the commission's recruitment calendar.
  5. 5StudyBddy could not render OPSC's advertisement list in this build and therefore does not state whether an application window is currently open - confirm on the official pages above. Note that the online application host opscechayan.in returned HTTP 404 on 30 July 2026; use the link carried inside the current advertisement rather than a remembered URL.
FAQs
What does the Odisha Civil Services Examination actually recruit to?

Principally the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS), alongside other Group A and Group B state services. The Government of Odisha's OAS Restructuring Resolution sets the cadre at 2,123 posts across five grades, from OAS Group-A (Junior Branch) at Pay Level 12 up to the Special Secretary grade at Level 17, with Collector & District Magistrate and municipal Commissioner posts sitting in the Superior Administrative Grade at Level 16.

Do OPSC Preliminary marks count in the final merit list?

In a Preliminary + Main + Personality Test recruitment the Preliminary examination is a screening stage only - it decides admission to the Main examination and its marks are not carried into the final merit, which is built from the Main examination and the Personality Test. StudyBddy could not read OPSC's own scheme in this build, so confirm the wording in the current advertisement.

Is the pay figure here a salary estimate?

No. Every pay figure in this record is an official pay-matrix LEVEL taken from the Government of Odisha's OAS Restructuring Resolution No. 15357. StudyBddy does not publish market or take-home salary estimates.

Why are eligibility, pattern and dates missing?

Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
