    Computer Based Entrance Test (course-wise)

    PGIMER conducts a separate entrance test for each course under its own admission notice. For the July 2026 session the entrance examination for Fellowship/PDF, PGDPHM, Ph.D., House Job (OHS), M.Sc./M.Sc. (MLT), MPH and M.Sc. Nursing was held on 31.05.2026 in morning and afternoon shifts. The B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) and B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) Computer Based Entrance Test for the 2026 session was scheduled for 24.07.2026.

    Result, document verification and counselling

    Required

    Score cards are published course-wise on the PGIMER notice board, followed by document verification and counselling. For Ph.D. the Institute additionally issues a counselling notice against the entrance examination held for that session.

  1. 1Identify your course first. MD/MS at PGIMER is filled through INICET conducted by AIIMS New Delhi, not through a PGIMER paper.
  2. 2Watch the PGIMER notice board at pgimer.edu.in for your course's admission notice. Each course gets its own numbered admission notice - for example Admission Notice No. 06/2026 for B.Sc. Nursing and Ph.D. Admission Notice No. 03/2026 for the July 2026 session.
  3. 3Fill the prescribed application form online on the PGIMER website within the window given in that notice, and deposit the fee before the stated last date.
  4. 4Use the edit / correction window when the Institute opens one - PGIMER issued a correction window notice for the B.Sc. Nursing applications for the 2026 session.
  5. 5Download the admit card from the link published in the Institute's admit card notice for your course.
  6. 6Sit the computer based entrance test on the notified date, then check the course-wise score card and result notice on the PGIMER notice board.
  7. 7Attend document verification and counselling on the dates given in the admission notice.
FAQs
Does PGIMER Chandigarh still hold its own entrance examination?

Yes, but not for everything. PGIMER still sets its own course-wise computer based entrance tests for B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc./M.Sc. (MLT), M.Sc. Nursing, MPH, PGDPHM, Ph.D., House Job and Fellowship/PDF courses. MD/MS seats at PGIMER are filled through INICET, which AIIMS New Delhi conducts.

When is the PGIMER entrance held?

PGIMER's Admission Procedure page states the entrance examination is held in December for the January session and in June for the July session. For the July 2026 session the test for Fellowship/PDF, PGDPHM, Ph.D., House Job (OHS), M.Sc./M.Sc. (MLT), MPH and M.Sc. Nursing was held on 31.05.2026, and the B.Sc. Nursing test was scheduled for 24.07.2026.

How many B.Sc. Nursing seats does PGIMER have in 2026?

Admission Notice No. 06/2026 lists 93 seats for B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) - Gen 47, SC 14, ST 07, OBC 25 and PwBD 05 - and 62 seats for B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) - Gen 22, SC 07, ST 04, OBC 14, 15 for PGI Staff and PwBD 03.

Where do I find the exact number of questions in my paper?

PGIMER publishes the paper structure in each course's own prospectus rather than in one common document. Read the prospectus attached to your course's admission notice on pgimer.edu.in; do not assume the MD/MS paper description on the Institute's Admission Procedure page applies to your course.

I want MD/MS at PGIMER. What do I prepare for?

INICET. PGIMER's own July 2026 notices deal with reporting for INICET seat allocation rounds at PGIMER Chandigarh under result notifications issued by AIIMS New Delhi, so INICET is the paper that decides the seat.
