RequiredThe marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination shall not be counted for determining final merit. The number of candidates admitted to the Main Examination is fifteen times the total number of vacancies (category-wise), with all candidates on the last cut-off percentage admitted.

RequiredIt is compulsory to appear in each and every paper of the written test as also before the Interview Board for viva voce. A candidate who fails to appear in any written paper or before the board for viva voce shall not be recommended for appointment.

Interview
RequiredSuitability for employment is tested with reference to the candidate's record at school, college and university, and character, personality, address and physique. Questions may be of a general nature and will not necessarily be academic or legal. Marks are also awarded for proficiency in Rajasthani dialects and knowledge of social customs of Rajasthan. The number of candidates admitted to the Interview shall be, as far as practicable, three times the total number of vacancies category-wise.

Who conducts the Rajasthan Judicial Service (Civil Judge) examination?
The Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur. Every notice in the 2025 cycle - the advertisement, the answer keys, the results - was issued by the Registrar (Examination), Rajasthan High Court. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission is not involved.
What is the age limit?
A candidate must have attained 21 years and must not have attained 40 years on the first day of January following the last date fixed for receipt of applications (01.01.2026 for the 2025 advertisement). SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS and women candidates get 5 years' relaxation, Ex-Servicemen 10 years subject to a 50-year ceiling, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities 5 years. Only one category of relaxation is admissible.
Can a final-year LL.B. student apply?
Yes. A person who has appeared or is appearing in the final year or final semester of LL.B. (Professional) may apply, but must acquire the degree before the Main Examination and submit proof to the Registrar (Examination), Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur within 07 days of the Main Examination.
How is the examination marked?
The Preliminary Examination is 100 objective questions for 100 marks in 2 hours on OMR sheets, with no negative marking, and its marks do not count towards final merit. The Main Examination has Law Paper-I (100 marks, 3 hours), Law Paper-II (100 marks, 3 hours), Hindi Essay (50 marks, 2 hours) and English Essay (50 marks, 2 hours). The Interview carries 35 marks.
Is a 2026 cycle open?
No. As of 3 August 2026 the most recent Civil Judge Cadre recruitment listed on the Rajasthan High Court recruitment page is the 2025 cycle, whose final result was declared on 19 December 2025. No advertisement for a 2026 cycle has been published there.
