Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line State PSC Exams (Various States) up against other exams yet

This does not mean State PSC Exams (Various States) shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

Previous-year papers
No question paper belongs to this row, because no examination belongs to this row. Where a commission publishes its own past papers or answer keys, those appear on that commission's own website and, where researched, on that state's own catalogue row.

How to apply
Open official application page
  1. 1Decide which state's services you want to enter. That decision, not a generic preparation plan, is the first step.
  2. 2Open that state's Public Service Commission website from overview.conductingBodies.
  3. 3Find the current advertisement for the service you want. Commissions number their advertisements and publish them individually; there is no common application window.
  4. 4Read that advertisement's eligibility clause in full before paying anything — age, qualification, attempts, domicile and language requirements differ from state to state.
  5. 5Apply through that commission's own online portal within the window its advertisement sets, and pay that commission's own fee.
  6. 6Download the syllabus and scheme attached to that advertisement and prepare from it. Do not prepare from another state's syllabus.
  7. 7Watch that commission's own website for the admit card, the examination date and the result. No other site speaks for it.
FAQs
Is there one exam called the State PSC exam?

No. Every state and union territory has its own Public Service Commission and each conducts its own examinations for its own services, with its own advertisement, syllabus, question paper, eligibility rules and calendar. There is nothing to register for under the name 'State PSC exam'.

Then what should I open instead?

The row for the state examination you actually want. The catalogue already carries rpsc-ras for Rajasthan, tnpsc-group-i-iv for Tamil Nadu, wbcs for West Bengal, gpsc for Gujarat, hpsc for Haryana, ppsc for Punjab, uppsc-pcs for Uttar Pradesh, mpsc for Maharashtra, mppsc for Madhya Pradesh, bpsc for Bihar, cgpsc for Chhattisgarh, jpsc for Jharkhand, opsc-oas for Odisha, kpsc for Karnataka, hppsc for Himachal Pradesh, ukpsc for Uttarakhand, tspsc for Telangana, appsc for Andhra Pradesh, goa-psc for Goa and kerala-psc-ldc-degree-prelims for Kerala.

Can I prepare once and sit several state exams?

Partly, and only for the general-studies core. The broad three-stage shape recurs in most states, but the syllabus weightings, the state-specific general knowledge, the compulsory regional-language papers, the optional-subject rules, the negative marking and the cut-offs are set separately by each commission. Preparation transfers; an application strategy built on another state's rules does not.

Does UPSC conduct state PSC exams?

No. The Union Public Service Commission conducts the central services examinations. State services are recruited by that state's own Public Service Commission, which is a separate body with its own chairman, secretariat and rules.

Why does this page not list an age limit or exam pattern?

Because any single figure would be wrong for almost every reader. Age limits, attempt limits, question counts, marks and negative marking differ from state to state. Printing a merged figure here would send someone to an application they cannot make or away from one they could. The figures live on each state's own page.

Where do the dates come from?

From each commission separately. Rajasthan publishes a tentative examination calendar; Tamil Nadu publishes separately numbered notifications for each examination; other commissions do it their own way. There is no shared calendar, so this page carries no date.

Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
