We cannot line TS TET up against other exams yet
This does not mean TS TET shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

FAQsPending verification
Is it TS TET or TG TET now?
The conducting body's own portal and every current document call it TGTET — the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test, conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Telangana. Use TGTET. StudyBddy keeps 'TS TET' only as a legacy search label.
How often is TGTET held?
The notification records that two regular TETs are scheduled per year, and that the Government additionally permitted two special TETs only for in-service teachers in this cycle.
I am not a serving teacher. Can I apply for the cycle on the portal now?
No. TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 is open only to in-service teachers working in Government, Local Body, TGREIS, Government Welfare Societies Residential and Telangana Model Schools, and teachers working in other Government departments. A fresh candidate must wait for a regular TGTET notification.
I am a serving teacher. Can I use this pass to apply for a new post?
No. The notification says in capitals that a pass in TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 cannot be used for appearing in any direct recruitment in future. It counts only towards the mandatory condition of having passed a TET, for continuing in your present post or for promotion to the next higher post. For direct recruitment you must sit a regular State TET or CTET.
What is the paper like?
An online Computer Based Test of 150 multiple choice questions, one mark each, four options with one correct, over 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking. Paper-I and Paper-II each have 30 questions for Child Development and Pedagogy, 30 for Language-I and 30 for Language-II English; Paper-I adds Mathematics 30 and Environmental Studies 30, while Paper-II has a single 60-question subject part.
Which paper do I sit?
Paper-I for classes I to V and Paper-II for classes VI to VIII. A teacher of classes I to V who intends to teach classes VI to VIII, and who holds the other required qualifications, sits both. In the in-service cycle, Secondary Grade Teachers and LFL Head Masters appointed with both D.El.Ed. and B.Ed. sit Paper-I, while School Assistants, TGTs, Language Pandits and Head Masters of High Schools sit Paper-II.
What marks do I need to pass?
60% and above for General and EWS, 50% and above for BCs, and 40% and above for SC, ST and differently abled candidates, on a 150-mark paper.
What language will the paper be in?
Bilingual — English followed by the Language-I you chose, for all languages except Sanskrit. If you choose Sanskrit the questions are in Telugu followed by Sanskrit in Devanagari script. Language-II is English for every candidate.
What does the examination cost?
For General and BC candidates, Rs.750 for a single paper and Rs.1000 for both papers. For SC, ST and PwD candidates, Rs.700 for one paper and Rs.950 for two. Payment is online on the Department's website during the fee window.
Can I challenge the answer key?
Yes, but only the initial key and only within the time allowed. The Director of School Education and Chairperson, TGTET publishes the initial key after the CBT and invites objections online; an expert committee constituted by that authority disposes of them and the final key is then published. Any objection filed after the stipulated period is not entertained.
How long is the certificate valid?
The validity period of the TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 certificate, unless otherwise notified by the Government of Telangana, remains valid for life for continuing in the present post of working or for promotion to the next higher post from the present post.
Where does the exam happen and can I pick my district?
It is an online Computer Based Test. You submit an order of preference of examination centres by district in the online application, but the Convenor may allot you to a district depending on capacity. The paper-wise detailed schedule is notified separately, so watch the portal for your day and session.
Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
