Is UKSEE still conducted?
On the evidence of Uttarakhand Technical University's own current documents, no. The word UKSEE appears nowhere in the university's 2026-27 admission brochure, its Counselling Portal 2026-27 page, its home page, or its Undergraduate and Postgraduate admission process pages. The most recent UKSEE page the site retains is UKSEE 2022, and that page's entire content reads 'content will be available soon'. No document on the official domain formally announces the discontinuation, so this record states what the university publishes rather than an announced end date.
So how do I get into a B.Tech seat in Uttarakhand through this university now?
Through the university's own online counselling. Its admission brochure states that B.Tech admissions are first carried out based on JEE / Class 12 Merit for two rounds, and that admission to all the rest of the programmes is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Register on the Counselling Portal, fill choices, and report at the allotted institution.
Do I have to have appeared in JEE Main?
Not necessarily. The Counselling Portal's registration note tells candidates who did not take part in JEE Main 2026 to select 'No' for the JEE Main 2026 entrance examination option and continue registering; for them a DigiLocker account is not mandatory. Candidates who did appear in JEE Main 2026 must have a DigiLocker account before continuing registration. B.Tech seats are filled on JEE / Class 12 merit for the first two rounds, so a JEE Main score is an advantage rather than an absolute bar to registering.
Which exam should I actually prepare for?
JEE Main, if you want a B.Tech seat on merit in the early rounds. There is no current UKSEE syllabus, pattern or past paper published by the university to prepare from. For every other programme the university admits on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination, so your Class 12 or diploma or degree result is what counts.
Do I need an Uttarakhand domicile?
Not to apply, but it determines your quota. Candidates who passed or are appearing in the qualifying examination in other states but hold Uttarakhand domicile are eligible under the Uttarakhand quota, and must produce a Domicile Certificate from the competent authority at counselling. Candidates who passed the qualifying examination from the Uttarakhand Technical Board or Universities are eligible for lateral entry seats but not for any reservation.
What will the course cost?
The university does not fix it. The brochure states that fees for each programme and institution are decided by the Fee Regulating Body prescribed by the State Government, and advises students to check fee details for a particular programme on the website of the institute concerned.
