How to applyPending verification
- 1Complete One Time Registration (O.T.R.) on upsssc.gov.in first. O.T.R. has been in force at the Commission since 14-07-2026 and a PET-2026 application cannot be made without it. Make sure every detail entered in the O.T.R. is error-free, and make any O.T.R. correction before you register for PET-2026.
- 2Authenticate: log in with your O.T.R. number, or with the mobile number registered against the O.T.R., click Get OTP, then enter the OTP and the verification code. The application form opens with your O.T.R. details pre-filled.
- 3Fill in the remaining details in the application form - intermediate qualification (if held), marital status, EWS, Uttar Pradesh State employee, dependant of a freedom fighter, discharged/ex-serviceman, outstanding sportsperson, category of disability, and any additional age relaxation claimed.
- 4Read the declaration at the foot of the form, select 'Yes', enter the verification code and click Submit. A Registration Slip is displayed with an 11-digit registration number - keep it.
- 5Click 'Proceed for Payment' on the Registration Slip and pay the prescribed fee by Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI or SBI e-challan. No other mode is permitted. Wait for the payment to be confirmed - do not click any button again and do not refresh or close the browser.
- 6If the fee is paid but the application does not appear, the payment has not been reconciled. Go to 'Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification Mode' under the Applicant Segment on the Commission's homepage, log in with your PET-2026 registration number and click 'Verify Transaction ID'.
- 7Download and print the application form. The application process is complete only after you have reconciled the fee and downloaded/printed the form, and this must be done within the prescribed period - the Commission accepts no responsibility for any delay.
- 8Use 'Modify Submitted Application' on the homepage if you need to change a permitted detail. The modification facility is open from 10-08-2026 and closes on 08-09-2026; after that no modification is possible at any stage.
- 9Only one application may be made. If more than one is submitted, only the last one is accepted.
FAQsPending verification
Does passing the UPSSSC PET get me a government job?
No. The advertisement says so directly at clause 2.3: merely applying for, appearing in, or being issued a result or score card for PET-2026 gives you no claim to be considered for selection against any post. The PET score is a gate. When the Commission later advertises a Mains examination for actual Group 'C' posts, only candidates who sat the PET and hold a valid PET score card may apply, and the Commission shortlists for that Mains on the basis of the PET score.
What is the PET-2026 exam pattern?
100 objective multiple-choice questions for 100 marks in 2 hours. A quarter mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Questions on the academic subjects at serial numbers 1 to 9 are pitched at the NCERT secondary / senior secondary level.
How are the 100 marks split?

How long does a PET score last?
Three years from the date the Commission issues the result or uploads it on its website, under UP Government order No. 316/47-ka-3-2025 dated 28-04-2025. The PET is now held annually, so you can hold more than one valid score at once - in that case you apply on the highest valid normalised marks you hold at the time, and your shortlisting is done on those marks.
What are the key dates for PET-2026?
The advertisement was published on 01-08-2026. Registration, online application and fee deposit open on 03-08-2026 and close on 01-09-2026. The last date for fee adjustment and for correcting the application is 08-09-2026, with the modification facility open from 10-08-2026. No examination day has been announced - clause 10 says the date will be notified in due course, and clause 13.05 says the date, time, district and centre come to you on the admit card. The Commission's own calendar dated 03 August 2026 lists PET-2026 as proposed for the month of October 2026, and adds that in special circumstances it may change examination dates.
Who can apply?
Anyone holding High School (Class 10) or an equivalent qualification obtained before the last date for submitting the application form, who has completed 18 years of age as on 01 July 2026 and is not more than 40 years. Age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC, classified sportspersons (5 years), ex-servicemen (3 years), Divyangjan (15 years) and UP State employees (5 years).
What is normalisation and when does it apply?
If applications are very numerous and the Commission cannot hold the written examination in a single shift or day, it may run multiple shifts or days. Where it does, scores are normalised for comparative evaluation, under the Commission's notice No. 42/05/vigya-anu-(gyarah)/2019 dated 22 May 2019. The Commission's decision on this is final.
