How to applyPending verification
- 1Wait for the intake advertisement to be published on agnipathvayu.cdac.in — the exact date-of-birth block and the registration window are given there.
- 2Register on the Agniveervayu registration portal at agnipathvayu.cdac.in/avreg/. CASB advises registering and logging in through DigiLocker so that documents are verified smoothly; a DigiLocker account can be created from the same page.

- 4If you are eligible for the Science Subjects stream, choose whether to appear for both Science Subjects and Other than Science Subjects in one sitting — the option is offered in the registration form.

FAQsPending verification
How many questions does the Agniveervayu STAR online test have?
It depends on your stream. Science Subjects (SS) is 70 questions for 70 marks in 60 minutes — Physics 25, Maths 25, English 20. Other than Science Subjects (OS) is 50 questions for 50 marks in 45 minutes — English 20 and Reasoning and General Awareness 30. If you sit for both in one sitting (BS) it is 100 questions for 100 marks in 85 minutes.
Is there negative marking?
Yes. One mark for every correct answer, nothing for an unattempted question, and 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Can I go back to a section I have finished?
No. Each subject has its own fixed time and appears in a set order. When its time is up the section is auto-submitted and cannot be reopened. You also cannot submit a section during its first 5 minutes.
Are my actual marks used for the cut-off?
No. Marks in STAR Phase-I are normalised using the formula published on the CASB website to allow for different difficulty across sessions. Both the Phase-II shortlisting cut-off and the Final Merit List are applied on normalised marks.
What are the age and marital status rules?
17½ years minimum and 21 years maximum as on date of enrolment, with the exact date-of-birth block given in each intake's advertisement. Only unmarried male and female Indian citizens are eligible, and an Agniveervayu who marries during the four-year engagement is discharged from service.
What is the physical fitness standard?
PFT-I is a 1.6 km run within 07 minutes for men and 08 minutes for women. After 10 minutes of recuperation, PFT-II asks men for 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats and women for 10 sit-ups and 15 squats, each within the stated time.
What will I be paid?
The Agniveervayu package is ₹30,000 a month in year 1, rising to ₹33,000, ₹36,500 and ₹40,000 in years 2, 3 and 4, of which 70% is in hand and 30% goes to the Agniveer Corpus Fund with a matching Government contribution. On exit after four years the Seva Nidhi package is ₹10.04 lakh excluding interest. There is a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh, and no pension or gratuity.
Is there an Agniveervayu intake open right now?
Not on the CASB portal as on 3 August 2026. Intake 02/2026 is finished — its Provisional Select List came out on 18 May 2026 and the enrolment list on 1 June 2026 — and no advertisement for a later intake had been published. Watch agnipathvayu.cdac.in.
