FAQs
Is there a separate entrance exam for B.Sc Nursing in Army colleges?

No. Admission runs on NEET (UG). Qualifying NEET (UG) is mandatory and the NEET (UG) score is what the AFMS shortlists on. The Army-run components come after shortlisting - a 30-minute computer-based ToGIGE, a psychological assessment and interview, and a medical board, all at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt.

Can male candidates apply?

No. The notification invites applications from female candidates only, who are unmarried, divorced, legally separated or a widow without encumbrances.

What is the ToGIGE exactly?

A computer-based Test of General Intelligence and General English: 40 multiple choice questions of two marks each for a maximum of 80 marks, with a negative mark of 0.5 for every incorrect answer, to be answered in 30 minutes.

How is the final merit decided?

On the combined merit of the NEET (UG) score plus the ToGIGE score plus the psychological assessment and interview, subject to medical fitness. Colleges are then allotted on merit cum choice, subject to seats available at each college.

Which colleges are these?

For the 2025 cycle the notification listed Colleges of Nursing at AFMC Pune, CH (EC) Kolkata, INHS Asvini Mumbai, AH (R&R) New Delhi, CH (CC) Lucknow and CH (AF) Bangalore, each affiliated to a different health-sciences university, with a printed total of 220 seats. Check the table in the notification for your own year.

Am I committed to service if I take this seat?

Yes. A candidate offered admission executes an agreement or bond to serve in the Armed Forces Medical Services as a Military Nursing Service officer, and a candidate withdrawing after 7 days of admission is liable to pay bond money as per that agreement.

Where do I find this year's notification?

On joinindianarmy.nic.in. StudyBddy could not retrieve a notification later than the 2025 one because the site's listing pages are behind a CAPTCHA gate, so the dates and the seat table here are from the 2025 cycle and must be re-read for yours.

Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
