How to apply
Open official application page
  1. 1Step One (Registration): open the 'Online Portal of BCECE-2026' link on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in and click New Registration. Register with an email ID and mobile number, verify both with the verification codes sent to them, and receive a Registration Number and password to sign in.
  2. 2Step Two (Multi-step application form): sign in, then complete Apply for Course Group, Personal Information, Contact Details, Educational Information and Upload Photo & Signature, saving and continuing at each stage. The photograph is uploaded at 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm together with a placard image and the signature.
  3. 3Step Three (Application preview and final submit): review the whole form, use Back to Edit where a correction is needed, accept the declaration and choose Final Submit & Proceed to Payment.
  4. 4Step Four (Payment of examination / counselling fee): pay online by credit card, debit card, UPI or net banking. Processing charges are payable by the candidate and the fee is not refunded. If money is debited but the payment fails, pay again — the failed amount is refunded to the bank account automatically. An application whose fee is not paid within the prescribed period is treated as incomplete and rejected.
  5. 5Step Five (Download confirmation page and fee receipt): download and print the confirmation page and fee receipt. These carry the Registration Number and are required at counselling. The confirmation page is not to be posted to the Board office, but must be produced at counselling.
FAQs
Is BCECE the way into engineering colleges in Bihar?

Not the first way. The prospectus states that undergraduate engineering seats in the state's engineering colleges, and B.Tech (Dairy Technology) and B.Tech (Food Technology) at Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology, Patna, are filled first through two rounds of online counselling of JEE (Main) candidates. Only seats still vacant after that are filled from the BCECE PCM / PCMB group through two further online counsellings. Prepare for JEE Main first.

What does BCECE actually decide admission to?

Per the prospectus introduction: Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleges, paramedical degree courses of the Lok Swasthya Sansthan, B.Sc. (Nursing), Pharmacy, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Fishery Science and other courses of a similar nature — plus the engineering seats left over after JEE (Main) counselling.

How many papers do I sit, and how long is each?

One paper per subject in the group you apply for. Each subject paper carries 100 objective questions of 4 marks each, for 400 full marks, and runs 1 hour 30 minutes. PCM, PCB and each Agriculture combination are three papers; PCMB is four.

Is there negative marking?

Yes. Clause 4.3.1 of the prospectus states that one mark is deducted for each wrong answer.

Which language is the paper in?

Clause 9.2 — question papers are in English and Hindi. Answers are marked on an OMR answer sheet.

What does PCMB cost extra?

A single subject group (PCM, PCB, or one of CBA / PCA / MBA / MCA) costs Rs 1,000 for General / EWS / BC / EBC candidates and Rs 500 for SC / ST / Divyang candidates. Sitting all four subjects as PCMB costs Rs 1,100 and Rs 550 respectively.

Can I ask for my answer sheet to be re-checked?

No. Clause 9.8 states that no application for re-evaluation or re-totalling is accepted and no correspondence about it is entertained.

May I carry a phone into the centre?

No. Clause 9.10.2 completely prohibits mobile phones and electronic gadgets or devices in the examination centre and hall; they may be confiscated and legal action taken.
