  1. 1Decide the route first: for Constable (General Duty) as an open all-India vacancy, apply to SSC under the Constable (GD) in CAPFs notice on ssc.gov.in; for BSF trade, communication, sports-quota or ST rally vacancies, apply under BSF's own advertisement on rectt.bsf.gov.in.
  2. 2For the represented ST rally, candidates appeared personally at the nearest listed recruitment centre with the Annexure-I application form typed in English on one side of full-scape plain paper with a passport-size photograph affixed.
  3. 3Attach self-attested copies of education and date-of-birth certificates, the ST certificate issued by the prescribed authority, a domicile certificate, and one identity proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID or Ration Card).
  4. 4Submit the Annexure-II admit-card form with a passport-size photograph along with the application.
  5. 5Collect the admit card by hand at the centre; incomplete applications are summarily rejected and no correspondence is entertained.
  6. 6No fee is mentioned in the represented rally advertisement and no TA/DA is admissible.

FAQs
Is BSF Constable/HC recruited through the SSC GD examination?

Partly. SSC's 2026 Constable (GD) notice states that SSC conducts the open competitive examination for Constable (General Duty) in BSF among other forces. But BSF itself advertises and conducts Head Constable (Radio Operator/Radio Mechanic), Constable (Tradesmen), sports-quota and special ST rally recruitment. This catalogue row is not a pure SSC alias.

Who conducts the physical and medical tests for the SSC route?

The SSC 2026 notice states that the Computer Based Examination is conducted by the Commission, while PST/PET, DME/RME and Document Verification are scheduled and conducted by the CAPFs.

Are the 157 cm height and 20% written cut-off on this page the general BSF standards?

No. Those are the relaxed standards of the ST-only special recruitment rally in Mizoram and Meghalaya. General standards are set by the applicable SSC notice or the applicable BSF advertisement.

What is the pattern for BSF Head Constable?
