- 3The exam form shown to you is generated from your course eligibility under the ICAI announcements and regulations, and becomes available on SSP from the announced dates.
- 4Fill and submit the examination application form within the announced window, and pay the examination fee online by VISA / MASTER / MAESTRO credit or debit card, RuPay card, Net Banking or BHIM UPI.
- 5If you need to change your examination city or medium after submitting, use the correction window announced for the cycle.
- 6Create Username, Register Course, Convert Course, Revalidate, and update Photo, Signature and Address on SSP only.

When are the CA exams in the current cycle?
Foundation is on 2, 5, 7 and 9 September 2026. Intermediate Group I is on 1, 3 and 6 September 2026 and Group II on 8, 10 and 12 September 2026. Final Group I is on 2, 4 and 6 November 2026 and Group II on 9, 11 and 13 November 2026.
Has the application window closed?
Yes for the main window — forms opened on 6 July 2026 and closed on 19 July 2026 without late fee, or 22 July 2026 with a late fee of Rs 600. ICAI then re-opened the Final November 2026 form with late fee from 1 August 2026 (11:00 IST) to 5 August 2026 (23:59 IST). The correction window for city or medium ran 23 to 25 July 2026.
What does it cost to sit the exam?
At Indian centres: Foundation Rs 1500; Intermediate Rs 1500 for a single group or Rs 2700 for both; Final Rs 1800 for a single group or Rs 3300 for both. The late fee is Rs 600 for Indian and Kathmandu centres, or US$ 10 for abroad centres.
How do I pass?
At every level you need a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate — of all papers at Foundation, and of the group (or of both groups taken together) at Intermediate and Final.
Is there negative marking?
Only at Foundation. ICAI's FAQ states there is negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong answer in the objective type papers (Papers 3 and 4). There is no negative marking in the MCQ questions at Intermediate or Final, or in the Self-Paced Online Modules.
Can I skip the Foundation?
Yes, through the Direct Entry Route. Commerce graduates or post-graduates with at least 55% marks, other graduates or post-graduates with at least 60%, and candidates who have passed the Intermediate level examination of ICMAI or ICSI can register directly for the Intermediate Course.
How long is each paper?
Three hours for most papers, 2 PM to 5 PM IST. Foundation Papers 3 and 4 are two hours, 2 PM to 4 PM. Final Paper 6 is four hours, 2 PM to 6 PM. Except for Foundation Papers 3 and 4, you get 15 minutes of advance reading time from 1.45 PM.
