How to applyPending verification
- 1Do not wait for an advertisement on the ESIC website for these two posts. Watch the AIIMS examination portal under Recruitments > Common Recruitment Examination.
- 2Open the current CRE detailed recruitment advertisement and find the ESIC rows for Upper Division Clerk (Group Code 3) or Stenographer (Group Code 20) in the qualification and vacancy annexures.
- 3Apply online only, through www.aiimsexams.ac.in, using your One Time Registration (OTR). An application with a duplicate or different candidate ID is rejected.
- 4Apply and pay separately for each group of posts you want. In CRE-5 the fee was Rs. 3000 for General/OBC and Rs. 2400 for SC/ST/EWS, with PwBD exempt.
- 5Upload photograph, signature and thumb impression exactly per the 'Upload Image Instructions'; a non-compliant image causes rejection.
- 6If you are in Government, semi or quasi Government, PSU, autonomous or Government-funded employment, including on contract, upload the No Objection Certificate by the notified date. Missing it means you are not allowed to appear at all.
- 7Sit the Stage-I CBT and, if shortlisted, the Stage-II skill test - the Writing and Typing skill test for UDC, or the stenography dictation and transcription test for Stenographer.
- 8When AIIMS invites choices, exercise ESIC and your preferred region carefully. Candidates who do not fill a choice for an organisation are not considered for it at any stage.
- 9Attend ESIC's own document verification when your regional office notifies it. ESIC, not AIIMS, verifies documents and issues the appointment.

Does ESIC conduct its own written exam for UDC and Stenographer?
No. These posts are filled through the Common Recruitment Examination conducted by the Examination Section, AIIMS New Delhi, in which ESIC is a participating organisation. ESIC remains the employer and its own Recruitment Rules govern eligibility and appointment.
Where do I apply?
On the AIIMS examination portal, www.aiimsexams.ac.in, under Recruitments > Common Recruitment Examination. There is no separate ESIC application form for these posts.
What qualification does ESIC ask for UDC?
The CRE-5 entry for every ESIC UDC region prints two requirements: a Degree of a recognized University or equivalent, and working knowledge of computer including use of Office suites and databases. The age window is 18-27 years and the pay is Level 4.
What qualification does ESIC ask for Stenographer?
12th class or equivalent from a recognized Board or University, plus the skill-test norm of dictation for 10 minutes at 80 words per minute with transcription in 50 minutes for English or 65 minutes for Hindi, only on a computer. Age 18-27 years, pay Level 4.
Does the skill test decide my rank?
No. The skill test is qualifying for the post it applies to. The merit list is prepared from the Computer Based Test among those who qualify the skill test.
How many ESIC vacancies were in CRE-5?
AIIMS published a region-wise table rather than a single ESIC total. Summing the printed rows gives 733 Upper Division Clerk vacancies across 21 ESIC regions and 183 Stenographer vacancies across 22 ESIC units. Treat the per-region rows in the advertisement as authoritative.
When is the CRE-5 exam?
The advertisement scheduled the Computer Based Test for 25 to 27 July 2026 and marked it as tentative. The skill test date is stated only as 'To be notified later'.
