No. GIC Re's 2024 advertisement, titled 'RECRUITMENT OF SCALE I OFFICERS', sets out GIC Re's own online written examination with Part A, Part B and Part C, followed by a Group Discussion and an Interview. GATE plays no part in this recruitment, including for the Engineering and IT streams.
What post is a GIC Scale I Officer?
Assistant Manager (Scale-I). The 2024 advertisement invites applications for 110 Officers in the cadre of Assistant Manager (Scale-I), to be posted at the Head Office in Mumbai and liable to be posted anywhere in India as well as abroad.
Is there a written examination for the Medical (MBBS) stream?
No. The advertisement states that for Doctors the selection will be made on the basis of performance in a two-level interview only and there will be no written test, and describes the 2 Medical stream vacancies as being filled without a written examination.
How many marks does the whole selection carry?
200 marks in total for the streams that sit the written examination - the online test carries 150 marks, the Group Discussion 20 marks and the Interview 30 marks.
What are the qualifying marks?
60% for General and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, both in the online test and for the overall selection process. A candidate has to secure those minimum marks in each stage - online test, GD and interview - separately.
Can I apply for more than one stream?
No. The advertisement states in capitals that a candidate can apply for only one stream of his or her choice.
