Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line GSSSB CCE up against other exams yet

This does not mean GSSSB CCE shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

How to apply
Open official application page
  1. 1Go to https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in and fill the online application form for Advertisement No. 378/202526 within the window printed in the advertisement.
  2. 2Read the whole advertisement first. The board states expressly that candidates must read the detailed instructions before filling the form so that a mistake or wrong entry does not later cause the candidature to be cancelled.
  3. 3Keep every original certificate — educational qualification, age, school leaving certificate, category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), disability if applicable, ex-serviceman if applicable — with you while filling the form, and enter details exactly as they appear on those certificates. Wrong details make the application liable to be cancelled.
  4. 4Submit the form to obtain a confirmation number, then pay the examination fee online against that confirmation number by the fee deadline. Payment is accepted only online; the advertisement names four online payment channels including wallets and requires a transaction fee over and above the examination fee.
  5. 5Print or download the fee receipt and keep it. If the fee receipt is not generated the fee is not treated as paid.
  6. 6Enter a mobile number and e-mail address you will keep active until the recruitment is complete — the board sends examination-related instructions by SMS to that number.
  7. 7Upload a recent passport-size photograph and keep more than one copy of the same photograph; the same photograph must be used through the whole recruitment, including on the attendance sheet at the examination and at original certificate verification.
  8. 8If you need to correct anything, apply again with the correct details before the last date, obtain a new confirmation number and pay the prescribed fee for that new confirmation number — the category entered cannot be changed once a form is confirmed.
  9. 9Download the call letter from https://gsssb.gujarat.gov.in when the board publishes the programme, and reach the centre printed on it at your own expense.
FAQs
What exactly is the GSSSB CCE?

It is the Gujarat Subordinate Services, Class III (Group-A and Group-B) Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the Gujarat Gaun Seva Pasandgi Mandal, Gandhinagar. One advertisement, one application and one common Preliminary paper cover a set of Class-III cadres spread across many Heads of Department — Junior Clerk, Senior Clerk, Head Clerk, Revenue Clerk in Collector offices, Office Superintendent, Social Welfare Inspector and others added by corrigenda.

Which advertisement is the current one and how many posts does it carry?

Advertisement No. 378/202526, published on 03/02/2026. The main advertisement and Corrigendum Advertisement No. 1 together published 6550 posts; Corrigendum Advertisement No. 2 of 27/02/2026 added 252 Group-A and 662 Group-B posts, that is 914 more, so the examination is being held for 7338 posts.

What is the difference between Group-A and Group-B?

Both groups sit the same Preliminary examination. The Main examination is different: for Group-A posts it is descriptive — Gujarati Language Skill 100 marks, English Language Skill 100 marks and General Studies 150 marks, 350 marks in all, each paper of 3 hours. For Group-B, which under this advertisement is the Junior Clerk cadre, the Main examination is a 200-mark MCQ paper of 120 minutes.

What is the Preliminary paper like?

A computer-based test of 150 questions carrying 1 mark each, 150 marks in all, in 120 minutes. The marks are split English 15, Gujarati 15, General Awareness and Current Affairs 30, Quantitive aptitude 30 and Reasoning 60. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates with disability get 20 minutes of extra time for every hour.

Does my Preliminary score count towards selection?

No. The advertisement states that the Preliminary is a screening test only and that the marks obtained in it are not taken into account for the final selection list. It only decides who goes forward: seven times the category-wise vacancies are declared qualified for the Main examination, on separate lists for Group-A and Group-B.

Is there a minimum qualifying mark?

Yes — 40 per cent. The advertisement fixes the minimum qualifying standard at 40 per cent both in the Preliminary and in the Main examination, and in every paper of each stage, and states that no lower standard can be fixed for candidates of any category in any circumstances.

What qualification and age do I need?

A Bachelor's degree from a university established by or under a Central or State Act, or a recognised equivalent, plus the basic computer knowledge prescribed by the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both. On 20/02/2026 the candidate had to be not less than 20 and not more than 35 years of age.

What age relaxation is available?

General category women 5 years; reserved category men 5 years; reserved category women 10 years; general category men with disability 10 years; general category women with disability 15 years; reserved category men with disability 15 years; reserved category women with disability 20 years — in each of those capped cases the maximum age is 45 years. Ex-servicemen get the period of service rendered plus up to three years. A reserved category candidate applying against an unreserved post gets no relaxation at all.

How much is the fee, and can I get it back?

Rs. 500 for unreserved candidates and Rs. 400 for reserved candidates — women of every category, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, persons with disability and ex-servicemen — for the Preliminary examination, payable online only with a transaction fee on top. The advertisement states in English that the paid fee shall be refunded to those candidates who appear for the examination; candidates who do not appear get nothing back.

When is the examination?

No date has been published. The board's syllabus notice of 25/06/2026 says the detailed programme for the examination date and for downloading the call letter will be placed on its website later. The board's own recruitment calendar for July to December 2026 gives only probable months — the examination in September 2026, the Group-A Main in November 2026 and the Group-B Main in January 2027. Treat those as the board's own estimate and watch https://gsssb.gujarat.gov.in for the dated notice.

Is there a waiting list?
