Soldier General Duty, Soldier Technical, Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant, Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical, Sepoy Pharma, Tradesman and Women Military Police are separate categories with separate education requirements, separate minimum-marks rules, separate physical and medical standards, separate CEE question papers and separate merit lists. SCHEME CHANGE: since the Agnipath Scheme was approved by the Cabinet in June 2022, these soldier categories are recruited as AGNIVEERS on a four-year engagement, not as regular-cadre soldiers on the pre-2022 terms — older guidance describing direct 'Soldier GD / Soldier Technical / Soldier Nursing Assistant / Soldier Clerk' recruitment on regular terms is out of date for fresh entry. Is 'Soldier GD / Technical / Nursing Assistant / Clerk' still a separate recruitment?
No — not as a separate route with its own terms of service for fresh entry. Since the Cabinet approved the Agnipath Scheme in June 2022, these soldier categories are recruited as Agniveers on a four-year engagement, through the common Online Common Entrance Examination. The canonical record is 'indian-army-agniveer-cee'. PIB's own Recruiting Year lists still name 'Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant' and 'Sepoy Pharma' as distinct categories within that process.
Can I get one eligibility answer for all soldier categories?
No, and it would be misleading to give one. Education, minimum marks, physical standards, the CEE question paper and the merit list are all category-specific — PIB's own release names separate 'Tradesman 10th Pass' and 'Tradesman 8th Pass' categories, which differ in the education level alone. Identify your category, then read that category's row in the current Army Recruiting Office notification for your district.
Which categories are recruited through the Online CEE?
Per PIB for Recruiting Year 2025-26: Agniveer General Duty, Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical, Agniveer Tradesman 10th Pass, Agniveer Tradesman 8th Pass, Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant, Sepoy Pharma, and Agniveer General Duty (Women Military Police). A further PIB release adds Havildar Education (IT/Cyber/Linguistics), Havildar Surveyor Automated Cartographer, and Junior Commissioned Officer categories in Catering and Religious Teacher — note that these last ones are regular-cadre entries, not Agniveer entries.
Are the Havildar and JCO categories also Agniveer entries?
No. PIB describes recruitment as being 'under the Agnipath Scheme and Regular Cadre'. The Havildar Education, Havildar Surveyor and JCO Catering / Religious Teacher categories are regular-cadre entries recruited through the same Online Common Entrance Examination but on different terms, with their own age and education rules that could not be confirmed in this research session.
