Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line INI CET up against other exams yet

This does not mean INI CET shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

Eligibility

Planning reference — verify the current detailed notice

INI-CET is held twice a year (January session and July session) and each session publishes its own Prospectus Part-A with its own internship cut-off date, and a Prospectus Part-B per institute. Seats are advertised in two groups - 'Open and Sponsored/Foreign National only' - and the seat matrix is released separately: the July 2026 Part-B states 'The tentative number of seats available in each specialty for the JULY 2026 session will be uploaded separately.' Match the exact course, institute and candidate category row in the current session's Part-A and Part-B before applying.

Next examination date has not yet been published in StudyBddy's verified official record. The date above is historical—not an upcoming deadline.

INI-CET runs two sessions a year but AIIMS publishes each session's dates only in that session's Prospectus Part-A - do not infer the January 2027 date from the January 2026 pattern. Watch https://www.aiimsexams.ac.in/ (Academic Courses tab, INI-CET) for the next Part-A.

FAQs
How many stages does INI-CET have?

One examination stage. INI-CET is a single computer-based test of 200 questions in 3 hours; there is no separate mains paper or interview. What follows the test is seat allocation, which the July 2026 prospectus says 'shall be conducted for at least Two (2) Rounds followed by Open Round.'

Must the internship be complete before the exam?

No - it must be complete by the cut-off date printed in that session's prospectus. For the July 2026 session the requirement was 12 months compulsory rotating internship / practical training completed 'on or before 31st July, 2026', while the examination itself was held on 16 May 2026.

Which institutes admit through INI-CET?

Per the July 2026 Prospectus Part-A: 19 AIIMS institutions (New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Bibinagar, Bhatinda, Deoghar, Mangalagiri, Raebareli, Kalyani, Bilaspur, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Rajkot, Jammu) together with JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, PGIMER Chandigarh and SCTIMST Trivandrum - 23 participating institutes in total.

Is there negative marking?

Yes. +1 for a correct answer, -1/3 for an incorrect answer and 0 for a question left unanswered or only marked for review.

Is INI-CET the same as NEET-PG?

No. INI-CET is conducted by AIIMS New Delhi for seats at the Institutes of National Importance. NEET-PG is conducted by NBEMS and, per the NBEMS website, is 'an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses', with the NBEMS page noting that AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER, NIMHANS and other premier institutions conduct separate admissions.
