How to applyPending verification
- 1Before applying, have ready the marks sheet of the Intermediate / 10+2 examination and scanned images of the photograph, signature and left thumb impression.
- 2Open the online application submission link on the Board's home page and complete the form. The applicant's name and the parent's name must be identical to the names registered in the 10th / I.Sc. / 10+2 or equivalent qualifying examination. No prefix or title such as Mr, Shri, Fr, Dr, Mrs, Smt or Col is allowed.
- 3Choose the subject group — PCM, PCB or PCMB — matching the courses being targeted, and check the educational qualification and age criteria for that group before applying. No option can be changed after the application form is submitted.
- 4Pay the application-cum-examination fee through the payment gateway by credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI. The service charge is borne by the applicant and the fee is never refunded.
- 5Print the computer-generated confirmation page. The hard copy is not sent to the Board's office; the bulletin advises keeping three or four printouts for future reference.
- 6Only one application form is allowed. More than one form leads to rejection.
- 7Corrections to the details entered may be made online only within the announced editing window; for the 2026 cycle the window was 10.07.2026 to 11.07.2026 after revision. No further opportunity for correction is given and no request in that regard is accepted.

Can I get into an engineering college in Jharkhand through JCECE?
Not through the general engineering route. The examination JCECEB conducts under the JCECE name is 'For Agriculture & Other Allied Courses'. Undergraduate engineering admission in Jharkhand now runs on a State Merit List based on the JEE (Main) result — the Board's own notice board carries Advt. No. 30 dated 02.07.2026 about counselling on that state merit list. JCECE does cover B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), which sit inside the agriculture stream.
Which courses does JCECE decide admission to?
First-year admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering), B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) and B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science).
Which subject group should I choose?
PCM opens B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology). PCB opens B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture and B.F.Sc. PCMB opens all seven courses. The group cannot be changed after the form is submitted.
How many questions and how much time?
Fifty questions per subject. PCM and PCB candidates answer 150 questions, PCMB candidates 200. The Biology paper runs one hour (10:30 to 11:30 AM), the combined Physics & Chemistry paper two hours (11:45 AM to 01:45 PM) and the Mathematics paper one hour (02:00 to 03:00 PM).
Is there negative marking?
Yes. Each question carries 1 mark and one-quarter of a mark is deducted for each incorrect response. Nothing is deducted for a question left blank. Marking more than one answer counts as an incorrect response.
Do I have to be from Jharkhand?
Yes. Clause 10.1 requires the applicant to be a citizen of India and a Local or Permanent Resident of Jharkhand, evidenced by a residence certificate from a Circle Officer, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) or Deputy Commissioner of Jharkhand State, produced in original at counselling.
Can my answer sheet be re-checked?
No. Clause 18 states there is no provision for re-checking or re-evaluation and no correspondence in that regard is entertained.
How is a tie in marks broken?
By stream. For B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture: higher Biology marks, then higher Chemistry marks, then the older candidate, then alphabetical order of first name. For the two B.Tech streams: Mathematics, then Physics, then age, then alphabet. For Forestry and Horticulture: Physics, then Chemistry, then age, then alphabet.
