- 1Understand first that there is nothing to apply for right now. The Commission's constable advertisement has been cancelled and its requisition withdrawn, and no Sub-Inspector advertisement is live.
- 2Watch the Advertisements page of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission. Each recruitment appears there as a pair — an advertisement (vigyapan) and a brochure (vivranika) — and the brochure is the document that carries eligibility, scheme, syllabus and physical standards.
- 3If you had paid the fee for the cancelled Jharkhand Aarakshi Pratiyogita Pariksha 2023, look for the option the Commission says it will provide inside the application process, under which no additional fee is payable in the first combined recruitment examination.
- 4Check the maximum age limit against the reference date the new brochure prints, remembering that the cancellation notice promises additional relaxation in the maximum age limit for applicants of every category in that first combined examination, computed against 01-08-2019.
- 5Do not apply through the Jharkhand Police department's own Recruitments page for constable or Sub-Inspector posts. That page carries only departmental and contractual engagements such as technical officers and Special Auxiliary Police contracts for ex-servicemen.

Who conducts Jharkhand Police constable and Sub-Inspector recruitment?
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), Ranchi. It publishes the advertisement and the brochure, takes the online applications and holds the examination, on requisition from the Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department of the Government of Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Police department's own website carries only departmental and contractual hiring and in-service examination results.
Will I be too old by the time the new examination comes?
The cancellation notice records that in the first combined recruitment examination held in future, applicants of every category will be given additional relaxation in the prescribed maximum age limit, and that the maximum age limit will be computed against the reference date given under the cancelled Advertisement No. 17/2023, namely 01-08-2019. The exact age band will be whatever the new brochure prints.
What is the examination pattern and what are the physical standards?
Neither is recorded here, because neither has been published for the recruitment that will actually be held. The only brochure carrying them belongs to the cancelled JCCE-2023. The scheme, syllabus, age limits and physical standards for the next recruitment will be printed in the brochure the Commission publishes with the new advertisement under the combined recruitment rules.
When is the next Jharkhand Police Sub-Inspector examination?
No date is published. The Commission's Advertisements list carries no Sub-Inspector advertisement, and the Sub-Inspector items its own site search returns — the Jharkhand Combined Police Sub Inspector Competitive Examination, the Limited departmental Sub-Inspector examination and the Radio Sub Inspector Wireless examination — belong to its 2017 cycle.
