Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line NATA (for B.Arch) up against other exams yet

This does not mean NATA (for B.Arch) shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

Qualification pathway

Clear each applicable stage in order

Final selection or admission still depends on the published cutoff or merit list and any applicable counselling, document, medical, preference and vacancy rules.

Selection sequence

  1. 1

    NATA aptitude test

    Required

Taken in Phase 1 (up to two attempts) or Phase 2 (one attempt). Each attempt yields a raw score and a Statement of Marks/Score Card; the best raw score drives the percentile.

  2. 2

    Centralized Admission Counselling

    Required

A valid NATA score admits to counselling; the Council states that qualifying confers no right or guarantee of admission. Phase 2 candidates are considered only against seats left vacant in the B.Arch. programme.

FAQs
How is NATA 2026 structured?

Two parts totalling 200 marks. Part A is an offline Drawing and Composition test — 90 minutes, 80 marks, three questions (Composition and Colour 25, Sketching & Composition 25, 3D Composition 30). Part B is a 90-minute computer-based adaptive test of 120 marks with 42 MCQs and 8 NCQs.

How many attempts do I get?

Up to two attempts in Phase 1 if you want to be considered through Centralized Admission Counselling, or a single attempt in Phase 2. With two attempts, your best raw score is used for the percentile.

What subjects must I have in class 12?

Physics and Mathematics are compulsory, plus one of Chemistry, Biology, a Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies — with at least 45% in aggregate. A 10+3 diploma with Mathematics and 45% aggregate also qualifies.

Does qualifying NATA guarantee a B.Arch. seat?

No. The Council states that qualifying does not constitute a right or guarantee of admission; you must still meet the admitting authority's requirements.
