How to applyPending verification
- 1Read the Information Bulletin and the instructions on the NEET-SS index page of the NBEMS website (https://natboard.edu.in) before starting the online submission process.
- 2New User Registration: create an online profile to generate a User ID and Password. Enter your full name exactly as on your Post Graduate Medical Qualification Certificate — it becomes non-editable and cannot be changed after submission; if entered wrongly, create another user with the correct name.
- 3Enter your father's and mother's full names, gender and date of birth carefully at the user-creation stage.
- 4Applicant Login: log in with the User ID and Password and use the 'Go To Application' link to register the online application. A lost password can be retrieved via 'Forgot Your Password'.
- 5Choose your nationality from Indian, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/PIO, or Non OCI foreign national.
- 6Select the question paper group or groups you wish to appear in, based on your eligible feeder broad specialty qualification.
- 7Upload the photograph, signature and thumb impression as per the image guidelines on the NBEMS website. Selfies are rejected.
- 8Pay the examination fee of Rs. 3,500 for each group selected. Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn and the fee is neither refunded nor carried forward.
- 9Use the edit window to correct any information or document other than Name, Nationality, Email ID, Mobile number and Test City; use the selective edit window only to rectify deficient or incorrect photograph, signature or thumb impression.
- 10Download the admit card from the NBEMS website on the date announced. Admit cards are not sent by post or email.
- 11Carry a printed copy of the barcoded/QR-coded admit card and proof of NMC/State Medical Council registration to the test centre on the exam day.

When is NEET-SS 2026?
NBEMS's notice dated 29 April 2026 gives tentative dates of 11 December 2026 (Friday) and 12 December 2026 (Saturday). NBEMS calls this schedule purely tentative and says the exact dates will be given in the Information Bulletin, which had not been published as of 3 August 2026. The cut-off date for completing the prior entry qualification is 31 January 2027.
What happened in the last cycle?
NEET-SS 2025 was conducted on 26 and 27 December 2025 for admission to DM/MCh/DrNB Super Specialty courses in the 2025-26 admission session. Applications ran from 5 November to 25 November 2025, admit cards were issued on 22 December 2025, and NBEMS declared the result by a notice dated 23 January 2026 (the bulletin had committed to declaring it by 28 January 2026).
What is the exam pattern?
A computer based test of 150 multiple choice questions in 150 minutes, split into three time-bound sections A, B and C of 50 questions and 50 minutes each. You cannot go back to a section once its time is over. Each correct answer is 4 marks, each incorrect answer loses 1 mark (25% negative marking), and unattempted questions score zero.
What is a 'group' and how many are there?
All super specialty courses offered through NEET-SS are grouped into 15 question paper groups, so there are 15 different papers. Thirteen groups are examined on the PG Exit level curriculum of a primary feeder broad specialty; the Critical Care Medicine and Medical Oncology groups are examined on those super specialty subjects themselves. You may sit as many group papers as your PG qualification is an eligible feeder for, paying Rs. 3,500 per group.
What score qualifies?
Candidates placed at the 50th percentile or above in their own question paper group's merit list are declared qualified. Merit lists are group-wise, with no equating, scaling or normalization.
Who conducts the counselling?
Common counselling for all DM, MCh and DrNB super specialty seats is conducted at national level by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India, at https://mcc.nic.in. NBEMS does not handle counselling or seat allotment queries.
Are all super specialty seats in the country filled through NEET-SS?
No. NBEMS lists AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru and the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum as not covered by centralized admissions for DM/MCh seats through NEET-SS. Direct 6-year DrNB courses are also outside NEET-SS.
