How to applyPending verification
- 1Check the eligibility requirements in Section 2 of the NIMCET Information Brochure before applying.
- 2Click the 'New Registration' link on the NIMCET portal to create a new user account and fill in the New User Registration fields.
- 3Enter a valid email id and a 10-digit mobile number. An email is sent automatically to that address with a link to set your own password (check the SPAM folder if it is not in the inbox).
- 4Log in and fill the web-enabled online application form with all relevant personal and academic information; mandatory fields must not be left blank.
- 5Choose THREE TEST CENTRES in order of preference, and enter marks/grade points obtained in all subjects studied in all years.
- 6Upload the required documents — photograph, signature, proof of identity, proof of date of birth (SSLC/10th marks sheet or card), all other mark sheets, and Category with Caste/PwD certificates where applicable, self-attested and scanned.
- 7Pay the non-refundable Application Processing Fee through the payment gateway by Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
- 8After successful payment click SUBMIT, then download and print the PDF of the completed application form carrying the unique APPLICATION REGISTRATION NUMBER, and quote that number in all future correspondence.
- 9Download the Admit Card from the portal during the admit card window and carry it, with the identity proof submitted in the application, to the test centre.
- 10After the result, register and fill choices for e-counselling by paying the non-refundable counselling fee, then follow the allotment, online reporting and institute reporting rounds.

Which institutes admit through NIMCET?
The NIMCET-2026 brochure says admission to the MCA programme for 2026-27 in eleven NITs — Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Meghalaya, Patna, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal — and two IIITs, Bhopal and Vadodara, is based on the NIMCET-2026 rank only. Note that Section 9 of the same brochure says 'thirteen NITs and two IIITs' when introducing the seat matrix, so check the seat matrix page before assuming a count.
Who can appear for NIMCET?
Indian nationals with at least 60% in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD) in either any UG programme of minimum three years duration with Mathematics or Statistics as a subject, or a B.E./B.Tech. from a recognised university. Final-year candidates may apply with a certificate from the head of their institution.
What is the NIMCET test pattern?
A two-hour computer-based test with 120 multiple choice questions in three timed parts: Part-I Mathematics (50 questions, 70 minutes), Part-II Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning (40 questions, 30 minutes) and Part-III Computer Awareness (20 questions) plus General English (10 questions) in 20 minutes. Total marks are 1000. You cannot move back to an earlier part.
Is there negative marking?
Yes. Each wrong answer leads to 25% negative marks — 3 marks in Mathematics, 1.5 in Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, 1.5 in Computer Awareness and 1 in General English. Unanswered questions carry no deduction. A candidate securing zero or negative marks in Mathematics or in Total Marks is disqualified.
What does it cost to apply?
The non-refundable Application Processing Fee is Rs.2,500 for OPEN/OPEN-EWS/OBC candidates and Rs.1,250 for SC/ST candidates and PwD candidates of any category. Counselling registration carries a further non-refundable fee of Rs.1,000, and a seat acceptance fee of Rs.10,000 is payable once a seat is allotted.
When did the NIMCET-2026 exam take place?
The tentative schedule published on the portal gives the online examination as 6 June 2026 from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM, with results on 29 June 2026. Counselling ran through July 2026 and the special round allotment result has been declared.
