How to apply
Open official application page
  1. 1Work out which cadre you actually qualify for. An agriculture degree and a horticulture degree lead to different posts even within one recruitment - Tamil Nadu recruits an Agricultural Officer (Extension) and a Horticultural Officer side by side.
  2. 2Go to your own state's Public Service Commission website and find how that state arranges the post: a dedicated agricultural officer notification, a slot inside the combined civil services examination, or a place inside a common technical recruitment examination.
  3. 3Register on that commission's portal. Several commissions now run a One Time Registration that carries across recruitments - Tamil Nadu's response sheets, for example, are released to candidates through their OTR.
  4. 4Apply within the notification's window and pay the fee that notification prescribes.
  5. 5Sit the written or computer based test, then attend certificate verification with your original degree, marksheets and category certificates.
  6. 6Check whether your state also fills subordinate agriculture posts through a separate subordinate services selection board rather than the commission - the entry route at that level is often different.
