How to applyPending verification
- 1Register once on the Commission's One Time Registration (OTR) platform. The Group I notification states the OTR registration fee is Rs.150 and that a successful registration is valid for five years from the date of registration.
- 2Keep ready a scanned photograph of 20 KB to 50 KB saved as Photograph.jpg and a signature of 10 KB to 20 KB saved as Signature.jpg, both at 200 DPI, and a photograph taken on or after the date of notification.
- 3Fill the online application for the specific examination from the Commission's examination portal named in the notification (www.tnpscexams.in).
- 4Pay the examination fee online by Net Banking, Credit card, Debit card or UPI on or before the last date for submission.
- 5Use the Application Correction Window, which opens for a stated period after the last date, if any detail needs correcting; no correction is allowed after it closes.
FAQsPending verification
Is TNPSC Group I-IV one examination?
No. They are four separate Combined Civil Services Examinations. CCSE-I selects for Group I services, CCSE-II for Group II and IIA, CCSE-III for Group III and CCSE-IV for Group IV. Each is opened by its own numbered notification with its own vacancies, eligibility and scheme, and a mark in one does not carry over to another.
Which TNPSC group examinations are scheduled in 2026?
The Commission's Annual Planner - Programme of Examinations - 2026, published on 03.12.2025, lists Combined Civil Services Examination - I (notification 23.06.2026, examination 06.09.2026), Combined Civil Services Examination - II (notification 11.08.2026, examination 25.10.2026) and Combined Civil Services Examination - IV (notification 06.10.2026, examination 20.12.2026). No Combined Civil Services Examination - III appears in that planner.
When is the Group I 2026 preliminary examination?
Notification No.05/2026 fixed it for 06.09.2026 from 09.30 A.M. to 12.30 P.M., but the Commission's press release 83/2026 dated 16.07.2026 postponed it to 27.09.2026, and the Exam Dashboard now shows 27/09/2026.
Does Group IV have an interview?
No. Notification No.07/2025 describes a single objective written examination on OMR followed by certificate verification and counselling. The interview stage exists in Group I, which has Preliminary, Main and Interview.
Is the Tamil paper compulsory?
In Group I and Group II main examinations Paper I is a Tamil Eligibility Test that must be passed before the other papers are evaluated. In Group IV, Part A is a Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test whose marks also count for ranking, and Parts B and C are evaluated only if the candidate scores 40 per cent in Part A. Differently abled candidates who studied only English can, in the Group IV examination, opt for General English at SSLC standard instead.
Do the preliminary marks count towards the final rank in Group I?
No. Notification No.05/2026 states that the Preliminary Examination is a screening test only. Final selection is on the total of Main Examination Papers II, III and IV plus the Interview, which is 850 marks.
