How to applyPending verification
- 1Open Candidate Corner > Recruitment & Notification on https://sssc.uk.gov.in and find the advertisement for your designation. Read it, and read every corrigendum and संवाद notice issued against it.
- 2Set up your One Time Registration with your name, father's name and date of birth exactly as they appear on your high school mark sheet or certificate. The Commission's FAQ makes the OTR the place these details are held, and the only way to change them after a final submission is to cancel the application, log in again and update the OTR.
- 3Fill the online application form through the link the Commission publishes for that advertisement, and pay the application fee. The fee shown on screen depends on the category you select.
- 4Check every field before final submission. The Commission's FAQ states that it does not permit editing after submission with the fee, and does not edit data on a candidate's behalf.
- 5If you find a mistake before the last date, cancel the submitted application and submit a fresh one with the correct details. After the last date you can only wait to see whether the Commission opens a correction opportunity, and the Commission decides which fields may be corrected.
- 6Take care over the category and sub-category. If you pick the wrong one, the Commission's FAQ warns that selection will be considered according to the category you chose, which may disqualify you from the final selection.
- 7You do not need to register with the employment office — the Commission's FAQ says registration at the employment office is not mandatory for applying to UKSSSC advertisements.
- 8Download the admit card from the Commission's site when it publishes the admit-card notice for your advertisement, and watch for any further test — a driving efficiency test, or a physical standard and efficiency test — which the Commission announces separately with its own admit card.
- 9After the paper, use the online objection link the Commission publishes with the answer key, within the dates it gives.
- 10Attend document scrutiny on the date the Commission announces. Candidature is cancelled for absence — the Commission publishes those cancellations.

Is there one 'UKSSSC exam' I can prepare for?
No. UKSSSC is a recruiting commission. It advertises Group 'C' posts advertisement by advertisement, each with its own number, its own designations, its own eligibility, its own syllabus document and its own examination. Some advertisements are combined level-based examinations — the Commission's own notices name Advt. No. 70/UKSSSC/2025 for Patwari/Lekhpal as a graduate-level examination and ADVT-64 for Junior Assistant-Data Entry Operator and others as an intermediate-level one — but there is no single all-Commission paper.
What is UKSSSC and what is it allowed to recruit for?
The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission, with headquarters at Dehradun. Its own Objective page states that it is meant for direct recruitment of all Group 'C' posts falling vacant under the various departments of the State, subject to the exceptions stated at Para 3 of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission Act, 2014, and subject to the posts falling under the purview of the Public Service Commission.
When and how was the Commission set up?
The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission Bill, 2014 (Adhiniyam Sankhya 20 of 2014) was passed by the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, assented to by the Governor and published vide Notification No-181/XXXVI(3)/2014-39(1)/2014 dated June 24, 2014. The Personnel Section-2 of the Government of Uttarakhand then notified the formation of the Commission with its headquarters at Dehradun vide Notification No-106/XXX(2)/14-03(01)/2014 TC-III dated September 17, 2014.
How do vacancies reach the Commission?
The appointing authority determines and intimates to the Commission the number of vacancies to be filled through it during the year of recruitment, together with the numbers reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other categories under the law in force, and notifies them on the prescribed Requisition letter. The Commission publishes the format of that requisition form on its own site.
Where do I find the syllabus?
In the Syllabus section under Candidate Corner on sssc.uk.gov.in, as a document published for your designation. The Commission issues these separately — for example a syllabus for Accountant / Assistant Accountant / Office Assistant Third (Accounts) / Cashier cum Assistant Accountant, one for Junior Assistant / Stenographer Grade-1 under the High Court at Nainital, and one for Assistant Agriculture Officer Class-1 / Assistant Agriculture Class-3 / Fodder Assistant Group-3 — and it sometimes revises a syllabus by a later notice.
What are the stages of selection?
A written competitive examination against the advertisement, then any further test the post requires — a driving efficiency test for the Driver and Enforcement Driver recruitment, a physical standard and efficiency test for Patwari/Lekhpal — then the answer key with an online objection window, then document scrutiny, then a provisional merit list and a General Merit List, and finally the Commission's selection recommendation to the appointing department. For clerical and stenography cadres the Commission also publishes separate Typing Rules and Stenography Rules.
Can I correct my application after submitting it?
No. The Commission's FAQ states that UKSSSC does not permit candidates to edit the application after it has been submitted with the fee, and does not edit data on a candidate's behalf. Before the last date you can cancel the submitted application and file a fresh one with correct details. After the last date you must wait to see whether the Commission provides a correction opportunity, and the Commission decides which fields may be corrected.
My name or date of birth is wrong in the form. What do I do?
The Commission's FAQ says that after the final submit button editing is not allowed: cancel the complete application, log in again, update your One Time Registration with the correct name, father's name and date of birth as per your high school mark sheet or certificate, and then apply online again.
I selected the wrong category. Does it matter?
Yes, seriously. The Commission's FAQ warns that the application fee shown on screen reflects the category selected, and that if the wrong category is selected in the application the selection will be considered according to the chosen category, which may disqualify the candidate from the final selection.
Do I need to be registered with the employment office?
No. The Commission's FAQ answers this in one word: No.
Where can I get UKSSSC previous year papers?
The Commission has an Old Question Papers section under Candidate Corner, but at the research date it carried no documents at all — the page returned 'Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.' What the Commission does publish is the answer key for each examination, with an online objection link. Anything sold elsewhere as a UKSSSC past paper is not from the Commission.
I want a Group 'A' or Group 'B' post in Uttarakhand. Is that UKSSSC?
No. The Commission's own remit statement excludes posts falling under the purview of the Public Service Commission. Those are recruited by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, whose catalogue row is ukpsc.
Why can't I search inside UKSSSC advertisements?
Because the Commission publishes them as scanned images rather than as text PDFs. They open and print, but the text cannot be searched or read aloud by a screen reader. Plan to read them by eye, and do not rely on anyone else's transcription of them.
