Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line UPPSC PCS up against other exams yet

This does not mean UPPSC PCS shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

Eligibility

Planning reference — verify the current detailed notice

This is a recruitment FAMILY, not one post with one rule. UPPSC's own published cut-off document for this examination shows the Preliminary examination being decided separately for the Executive, Agriculture, Horticulture, Law and Special Recruitment groups, each with its own cut-off - which means the post groups inside the advertisement carry different qualifications and different merit lists. Advt. No. A-1/E-1/2026 is explicitly a combined 'General/Special Recruitment' advertisement. Find the exact post row that applies to you in the current advertisement and read that row's qualification, age and reservation entries; a single generic answer is unsafe here. DOMICILE / RESERVATION: StudyBddy could not verify from an official document in this build whether this examination is open to candidates from outside the state, or restricted to state domiciles. Read the eligibility clause in the current notification. Note the point that is almost universal across State PSCs and that candidates from other states repeatedly get wrong: even where an out-of-state candidate may apply, category reservation and the age relaxation attached to it (SC/ST/OBC/EWS and state-specific categories) are normally available ONLY to candidates holding that state's own category certificate - an outside candidate is usually treated as Unreserved/General for both reservation and age. ACCESS LIMITATION (StudyBddy build, 30 July 2026): the UPPSC home page, the live notifications list, the recruitment-mode page and the exam-calendar PDF were read successfully, but the detailed advertisement document for Advt. No. A-1/E-1/2026 (uppsc.up.nic.in/OuterPages/View_Enclosure.aspx?ID=114&flag=E&FID=929) returned HTTP 503 on every attempt from this environment, and the exam-calendar PDF (uppsc.up.nic.in/CMS/Examination/EC.pdf) is a scanned Hindi document whose machine text is corrupted (two different header dates and unreadable table rows were returned on successive reads). Nothing that could not be read directly has been reproduced here. Open the detailed advertisement PDF from the UPPSC notifications page yourself before relying on any number.

Concluded

Next examination date has not yet been published in StudyBddy's verified official record. The date above is historical—not an upcoming deadline.

What IS confirmed from UPPSC's own live notification page on 30 July 2026: Advt. No. A-1/E-1/2026 was published on 25/06/2026; online applications opened 25/06/2026; the last date to submit the application and to deposit the fee is 03/08/2026; fee reconciliation runs to 10/08/2026; and the application modification window runs 25/06/2026 to 10/08/2026. UPPSC has separately issued a 'Notice regarding last date extension of P.C.S. Exam-2026', so treat 03/08/2026 as the currently posted last date and re-check the notice before the deadline. NO examination date is published on that page. UPPSC does maintain an Examination Calendar 2026 at uppsc.up.nic.in/CMS/Examination/EC.pdf, but that file is a scanned Hindi document whose extracted text was corrupted and self-contradictory when read, so StudyBddy will not publish a preliminary or main examination date from it. Open the calendar PDF yourself, or wait for UPPSC's dedicated exam-date notice.

  2. 2Open https://uppsc.up.nic.in/CandidatePages/Notifications.aspx and find Advt. No. A-1/E-1/2026, 'Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) (General/Special Recruitment) Examination-2026', published 25/06/2026.

FAQs
Do my Preliminary examination marks count towards the final PCS merit list?

No. In a Preliminary + Main + Interview recruitment the Preliminary paper is a screening filter: it decides who is admitted to the Main examination and its marks are not carried into the final merit list, which is built from the Main examination and the Interview. This is the general structure of the three-stage pattern; StudyBddy could not open UPPSC's detailed advertisement for Advt. No. A-1/E-1/2026 in this build (HTTP 503), so read the merit clause in that document to see the exact wording UPPSC uses.

Is UP PCS a single exam or several different recruitments?

It is one examination that fills several distinct post groups. UPPSC's own published cut-off document for this examination lists separate cut-offs for the Executive, Agriculture, Horticulture, Law and Special Recruitment groups, and Advt. No. A-1/E-1/2026 is a combined General plus Special Recruitment advertisement. Different groups carry different qualifications - match your own post row in the advertisement.

Has UPPSC published the PCS 2026 preliminary examination date?

Not on any page StudyBddy could read on 30 July 2026. The live notification page publishes only the application dates (application 25/06/2026 to 03/08/2026, fee reconciliation to 10/08/2026, modification to 10/08/2026). UPPSC does publish an Examination Calendar 2026 PDF, but it is a scanned document whose text could not be read reliably, and StudyBddy does not publish a date it could not read. Check the calendar PDF and the commission's exam-date notices directly.

Do I have to complete OTR before applying?

Yes. UPPSC states on the notification page that the applicant's OTR number is the only registration number for submitting an application form, and the application is completed through the Candidate Dashboard. Register at https://otr.pariksha.nic.in/ well before the closing date.

Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
