Can a candidate write both IES and ISS in the same cycle?
The notice states that a candidate may compete for only one of the two services for which the candidate is eligible.
Is one semester of Statistics enough for ISS?
No. For the bachelor's route, the 2026 notice says Statistics must be studied in all years of the degree; a one- or two-semester multidisciplinary component is not sufficient.
Are all ISS papers objective?
No. Statistics I and II are objective; Statistics III and IV, General English and General Studies are descriptive.
How is final merit calculated?
Each route has 1,000 written marks and 200 viva marks, for a 1,200-mark final merit total.
