  1. Phase 0 · Target, Eligibility & Reality Check

  2. Phase 1 · Foundation & Academic Base

    Strengthen school/college fundamentals in Digital electronics; computer architecture; CMOS basics; Verilog/SystemVerilog; Linux; scripting. Use textbooks plus one structured course; solve weekly problems and practise communication.

  3. Phase 2 · Core Curriculum / Skill Stack

    Complete a structured curriculum covering RTL design; simulation; synthesis; timing; verification methodology; assertions; debugging. Pair each topic with a lab, case, answer-writing exercise or practical task.

  4. Phase 3 · Applied Practice, Projects & Field Exposure

    Build progressively harder evidence: UART/FIFO/processor block; synthesizable RTL; constrained-random verification; FPGA prototype. Seek internships, labs, clubs, competitions, volunteering or apprenticeship where appropriate.

  5. Phase 4 · Exam, Credential, Licence or Advanced Qualification

    Plan prerequisites early. Use official syllabus/PYQs and preserve academic performance required for GATE for PG/PSU routes; MTech/MS helpful; vendor or NIELIT VLSI training optional.
