Does NBCC recruit on GATE scores?
No. Advt. No. 01/2026 sets out NBCC's own selection route - Personal Interview at E-6, Computer Based Test plus Personal Interview at E-3/E-2/E-1, Skill Test plus Personal Interview at E-0, and Computer Based Test alone at S-3. NBCC publishes its own scheme of examination and its own post-wise syllabus. GATE does not appear anywhere in the advertisement.
What does the NBCC Computer Based Test look like?
NBCC's published scheme for the posts at S.No. 02-08 and 10-12 has three sections: Knowledge of Discipline (Core Area) 90 questions, General Intelligence and Logical Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude 20 questions (10 plus 10), and General English 10 questions, for a total of 120. NBCC has not published a duration or a negative-marking rule for it.
Is there one eligibility rule for all NBCC posts?
No. Advt. No. 01/2026 covers twelve posts with different upper age limits (54 years at the top down to 28 years for Junior Engineers), different essential qualifications and different experience requirements. The advertisement is the document that settles eligibility for a particular post.
How much is the application fee?
Rs. 1000/- for all posts under Advt. No. 01/2026, payable online by debit card, credit card or net-banking. SC, ST, PWD and Departmental candidates are exempted.
Can I still apply to Advt. No. 01/2026?
No. Online registration ran from 06.03.2026 (10:00 hrs) to 05.04.2026 (17:00 hrs), and NBCC's public notice reopened the portal for posts 2 to 8 and 10 to 12 from 13 April 2026 to 17 April 2026. How do I know a NBCC vacancy notice is genuine?
NBCC's careers page warns that fraudulent websites circulate fictitious vacancy announcements and states that all genuine NBCC vacancies are announced on the official website www.nbccindia.in. NBCC also states that it does not solicit money from candidates other than the prescribed application fee.
