Worth preparing alongside

We cannot line Tripura JEE up against other exams yet

This does not mean Tripura JEE shares nothing with the exams you are preparing for — only that we have not loaded a chapter-by-chapter syllabus we can compare against, so we will not guess. We compare 0 exams whose official syllabus we have traced to the conducting body, and this one is not among them yet.

FAQs
Can I sit TJEE if I do not live in Tripura?

Generally no. The Board's eligibility notification requires the candidate to be a permanent resident of Tripura with the candidate or a parent having resided in the state continuously for not less than 10 years immediately before the application date, evidenced by a Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate. Narrow exceptions exist for children of All India Services Officers of the Manipur-Tripura cadre, children of State Government employees posted outside Tripura, children of officers on deputation to or of the Central Government working in Tripura for 3 years or more, wards of ex-servicemen with 5 years' continuous stay, and children of serving defence personnel hailing from Tripura with 5 years' continuous stay.

What does the TJEE paper look like?

One day, three shifts, OMR-based multiple choice. Physics and Chemistry come as a single combined paper of 60 questions in 90 minutes carrying 240 marks; Biology and Mathematics are 30 questions each in 45 minutes carrying 120 marks each. Every question carries 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for a wrong answer.

Which group should I choose?

Group-A (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) for Engineering and Technological degree courses; Group-B (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) for Veterinary, Agricultural, Fisheries, Forestry, Paramedical and other courses; Group-C (all four subjects) if you want to take chances in both.

Is there an upper age limit?

No. The prospectus FAQ answers a 29-year-old candidate directly: there is no upper age limit for appearing in TJEE provided all other eligibility criteria are met.

Is there OBC reservation in TJEE?

No. The prospectus FAQ states that there is no reservation for OBC candidates in TJEE. Reservation for SC, ST, Persons with Disabilities and wards of ex-servicemen is made as per the Reservation Act of the State Government.

Is there a minimum score to reach the merit list?

Yes. The prospectus states that candidates who secure less than 10 out of 360 will not be considered for the merit list, and the 2026 result notification confirms that this cutoff of 10 marks out of 360 applies to both the PCB and PCM groups, with candidates below it excluded from the merit list and ineligible for counselling.

Can I ask for re-evaluation?

No. The prospectus states there will be no re-checking or re-evaluation of the OMR sheet and that the Board keeps no provision for post-publication review of the result. The only recourse is the challenge window on the provisional answer key; OMR sheets are evaluated against the final answer key.

Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
