Company Secretary (CS) follows the Chartered Accountant, CMA & Company Secretary route.
Phase 0 · Target, Eligibility & Reality Check
Audit degree, marks, subject eligibility and prior evidence against the target route: Register with professional body → level-wise exams → training/articleship → membership. Take a diagnostic in Accounting; business law; economics; mathematics; communication; spreadsheet skills; classify gaps as must-have, useful or optional.

Phase 1 · Foundation & Academic Base
Complete bridge modules in weak subjects, with weekly tests and notes. Convert every topic into worked examples linked to Chartered Accountant, CMA & Company Secretary.

Phase 2 · Core Curriculum / Skill Stack
Use a competency matrix to close gaps in Professional syllabus by level; articleship/practical training; audit/tax/costing/corporate law; ethics. Practise under time limits and explain decisions, trade-offs and errors.

Phase 3 · Applied Practice, Projects & Field Exposure
Finish two role-relevant projects and one real-client, research, field, clinical or organisational experience. Document scope, method, result, limitations and your contribution.

Phase 4 · Exam, Credential, Licence or Advanced Qualification
Create a notification-driven preparation plan, complete PYQs/mocks and maintain a document checklist. For degree/PhD routes, prepare statements, references and research evidence.

Target roles such as Article assistant; accounts executive; compliance trainee. Send focused applications, request feedback and track conversion rates by channel.

Tailor CV and portfolio to the vacancy. Prepare STAR stories, technical/case rounds, exam interviews and a 30-60-90 day answer.
