Phase 1 · Foundation & Academic Base
Strengthen school/college fundamentals in CMOS devices; circuits; digital design; semiconductor physics; timing; Linux. Use textbooks plus one structured course; solve weekly problems and practise communication.

Phase 2 · Core Curriculum / Skill Stack
Complete a structured curriculum covering STA; synthesis/P&R; DFT; analog design; layout; signal integrity; PDK/EDA workflows. Pair each topic with a lab, case, answer-writing exercise or practical task.

Phase 3 · Applied Practice, Projects & Field Exposure
Build progressively harder evidence: Timing-closure study; small analog block; DFT flow; open-source P&R project; layout report. Seek internships, labs, clubs, competitions, volunteering or apprenticeship where appropriate.

Phase 4 · Exam, Credential, Licence or Advanced Qualification
Plan prerequisites early. Use official syllabus/PYQs and preserve academic performance required for MTech/MS commonly preferred for specialised design; GATE; vendor training.
