FPGA Engineer follows the Digital VLSI, RTL & Design Verification route.
Phase 0 · Target, Eligibility & Reality Check
Audit degree, marks, subject eligibility and prior evidence against the target route: ECE/EE foundation → RTL and verification projects → internship → design/verification interviews. Take a diagnostic in Digital electronics; computer architecture; CMOS basics; Verilog/SystemVerilog; Linux; scripting; classify gaps as must-have, useful or optional.

Phase 1 · Foundation & Academic Base
Complete bridge modules in weak subjects, with weekly tests and notes. Convert every topic into worked examples linked to Digital VLSI, RTL & Design Verification.

Phase 2 · Core Curriculum / Skill Stack
Use a competency matrix to close gaps in RTL design; simulation; synthesis; timing; verification methodology; assertions; debugging. Practise under time limits and explain decisions, trade-offs and errors.

Phase 3 · Applied Practice, Projects & Field Exposure
Finish two role-relevant projects and one real-client, research, field, clinical or organisational experience. Document scope, method, result, limitations and your contribution.
