| Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog — official portal | Open ↗ | The only official site. The home page carries the dated notice board — admit-card links, objection and cross-objection links, final answer keys and results, each addressed to a post code. |
| About HPRCA | Open ↗ | The Aayog's own account of what it is: administrative control by the Department of Personnel, Government of Himachal Pradesh, establishment on 30th September 2023, constitution under Article 192 read with the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, head office at Hamirpur, and the full list of its functions and the categories excluded from its purview. |
| Advertisements | Open ↗ | Every advertisement, addendum, corrigendum, public notice and correction-window notice, listed by number and date. This is where the eligibility, scheme, syllabus and dates for a post code actually live. |
| FAQ | Open ↗ | The Aayog's own answers on the online application — one profile per user, the profile must be 100% complete before applying, and no changes after submission. |
| Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission | Open ↗ | The separate commission for Himachal Pradesh Group-A and Group-B state services. The Aayog's own About page excludes posts in the Public Service Commission from HPRCA's purview, and its portal links to the Commission. The catalogue row for it is hppsc. |
How to applyPending verification
- 1Create your single profile on the HPRCA portal. The Aayog's FAQ states that a user can create only one profile, and that the profile can be updated at any time.
- 2Complete the profile fully before you apply. The Aayog's FAQ states that the profile should be 100% complete before applying for a post.
- 3Open the Advertisements page, find the advertisement carrying the post code you want, and read it with every addendum, corrigendum and public notice issued against it.
- 4Apply online against that post code within the window printed in the advertisement, watching for any public notice extending the last date — the Aayog issues those separately.
- 5Check everything before you submit. The Aayog's FAQ states that once the application is submitted candidates cannot make changes, and asks candidates to review their details before submitting. If the Aayog later opens a correction window it publishes a notice naming the advertisement.
- 6Download the admit card when the Aayog publishes the admit-card link for your post code, and reach the examination centre at least half an hour before the examination starts — the Aayog states that latecomers will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.
- 7After the paper, use the objection window against the provisional answer key, and then the cross-objection window, within the dates the Aayog publishes for your post code.
FAQsPending verification
Is there one 'HPRCA exam' I can prepare for?
No. HPRCA is a recruiting commission, not an examination. It advertises Group-C posts one at a time, each with its own advertisement number and post code, its own eligibility taken from that post's rules, its own computer-based test and its own dates. Find your post code and read that advertisement.
What is HPRCA and when was it set up?
The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog. Its own About page states that it operates under the administrative control of the Department of Personnel, Government of Himachal Pradesh, that it was established on 30th September 2023, and that it was constituted in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 192 read with the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India. Its head office is at Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, Pin 177001.
What was it called before?
This catalogue row is filed under the conducting body 'HP Rajya Chayan Aayog (formerly HPSSC)' — the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission, which also sat at Hamirpur. The Aayog's own About page does not mention its predecessor, and no official notification recording the dissolution of the former Commission could be retrieved for this record, so nothing further about the change is asserted here. Everything current is published under the name Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog.
Which posts does HPRCA recruit for?
All Group-C services and posts under the Government of Himachal Pradesh, with exclusions, plus Group-C posts in state PSUs, boards, corporations, government universities and local bodies that entrust their recruitment to it. In practice its notice board runs from subject teachers and Junior Basic Training Teachers through Junior Engineer (Civil), Assistant Staff Nurse, Medical Laboratory Technician, Junior Office Assistant (Library) and Steno Typist to printing-press cadres such as Proof Reader, Copy Holder and Offset Operator.
Which posts does HPRCA NOT recruit for?
Its own About page lists the exclusions: posts in the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission; Group-C posts for wards of government employees who die in harness; Group-C posts reserved for ex-servicemen, including one dependent of defence personnel killed or disabled in action; Group-C posts reserved for physically handicapped candidates; other posts excluded by the State Government; 50% of Class-III posts filled through batch-wise recruitment; Surveyor posts in the Public Works Department; and Junior Basic Trained Teachers in the Education Department where recruitment is on merit and batch-wise.
Where do I find the eligibility and syllabus?
Only in the advertisement for your post code, on the Advertisements page of hprca.hp.gov.in, read with every addendum, corrigendum and public notice issued against that advertisement. There is no common HPRCA eligibility rule and no common HPRCA syllabus, and anything sold as one is not from the Aayog.
How are the examinations conducted?
As computer-based tests, post code by post code, on separate dates. The Aayog instructs that candidates appearing for its CBT examinations must be at the examination centre at least half an hour before the examination begins, and that latecomers will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.
Can I correct my application after submitting it?
Not on your own. The Aayog's FAQ states that once the application is submitted candidates cannot make changes, and asks candidates to review their details before submitting. The Aayog does sometimes reopen applications, but only by publishing a 'notice regarding correction window' against a named advertisement number — its list carries such notices against several 2026 and 2025 advertisements.
How many profiles can I create on the portal?
One. The Aayog's FAQ states that a user can create only one profile, that the profile can be updated at any time, and that the profile should be 100% complete before applying for a post.
What happens after the examination?
The Aayog publishes a provisional answer key and opens an objection window for the named post codes, then a cross-objection window, and then publishes the final answer key. Results and recommendation lists follow. All of this appears on its own portal as dated links addressed to a post code.
Someone is asking me to pay for an HPRCA mock test. Is that official?
The Aayog's own home page warns: do not make any payments for the mock test through unknown, unofficial, or fraudulent links. If a payment demand does not come from hprca.hp.gov.in, do not pay it.
I want a Group-A or Group-B post in Himachal Pradesh. Is that HPRCA?
No. HPRCA's remit is Group-C, and posts in the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission are expressly excluded from its purview. The Public Service Commission is a separate body with its own site, linked from the Aayog's own portal; the catalogue row for it is hppsc.
Final eligibility and dates are always subject to the latest official notification. Content marked “Pending verification” is not presented as verified advice.
